Yep, nothing like showing the place off to visiting overseas colleagues on days like this.

During my university Summer break I used to work for a contract cleaner who would get jobs on construction sites cleaning things up for the architect's defect inspection. A lot of that work was outside and out west like a bunch of townhouses in a new cul de sac or some new business park. Most days it was hot and boy did I feel it. I would take 2 of those 3 litre (or was it 2 litre) Cottees cordial bottles, fill 'em up with the cordial mix, freeze them and then wrap them in towels so they would stay cool on site. I would always finish both before the half three knock off.

That said, I love days like today where I toiled all afternoon in the yard without a drink. That first can of Guinness went down in one go this evening. Sensational feeling!

Edit Reason: Mis-spelt Guinness. Sacrilege.

Unfortunately i have to wait till 9pm to down my first one!! frown

Edit, i love working in the heat, i just think of how many calories i lose in the day, only to put all back in the first three beers i have!! laugh

Well the Southerly is roaring through Sydney - 5 knots at the Airport and one knot at OH. It will gather strength, temps down South are cooling down.

I'll be interested in seeing tomorrow's sunshine hours. Today was literally cloudless as far as I have seen.

Enjoying a VB now. Tonight should still be nice for outdoors.

Looks like a nice day tomorrow, but Ice Cream Vendors' Alert for Monday and possibly Tuesday.

I'm hearing you boys!!!

Last night was just effing beautiful. Beers were flowing. Noreaster was warm but strangely cooling.

Kizz, I do the same everyday during summer. I freeze water in those 3 litre juice containers x 2 and take them to work. Most days (but not all) I drink both of them.

And Steve, I'm a VB man as well. Love the stuff, and the first never touches the sides. It's not good to drink all that water at work. smile

Hit a top of around 33C today with a nice, but rather gusty SW'ly most of the day. But although it was a little hotter than Wednesday's westerlies (30C, as opposed to 33C), it felt a little cooler today because the air was so dry. Wednesday still had fairly modest DP's around the mid to high teens.

Homer, I agree re the NEly yesterday/last night. I went for a quick surf yesterday arvo (around 6pm) and the NEly was so light and warm because of it's calmness, but cool because it was blowing straight from the beautiful blue water. smile

I went to a friends house and hung with a few friends and swam in the pool. smile Also we were inside for a while after that until we went out to play cricket around 6pm and the second I stepped out I could feel the moisture of that wretched scumtherly. And it went from completely sunny to cloudy in less than an hour. Gotta love those scumtherlies....

I'm not a huge fan of VB, but I did down one Corona about an hour ago which was nice after my rode home. smile

It certainly does look enticing, Homer. I wish I wish I could go back up there!! Anyway nice pics Eddy, you can see the chop from those ripples suggesting the SE breeze that you were talking about. smile

And Eddy hahaha! Actually the neighbours gave me and my step dad a 6 pack of Corona's for cutting some of his tree branches with our chainsaw on Thursday arvo, so I thought I might as well have a couple! smile I'm more into lemon and apple cider, along with carlton dry. In saying that, the corona's were quite nice.

Hahaha Homer, corona's with a lime wedge sounds pretty good to me!!

Thanks guys, Homer it was nice in too, water not as cold as the last couple of weeks!!

Nice pic Steve777. I can't make out what type of craft is on the water on my phone, what is it?

SM, at first the wind was dead calm and the bay was like glass, and then a gentle south easter came in. It's was great out on the SUP!!!

PS I've been drinking the odd Lemon Ed, alcoholic lemonade, beautiful grin

Just a small foot-pedal boat and a canoe. You can hire them at the Lane Cove Boatshed. You can also hire bicycles.

Nice pic Steve. smile

Yeah you can see the calmness in the first photo for sure. I wonder what the wind would have been doing at Corlette? Probably a westerly to start with and then your SEly probably would have funnelled up the bay in the form of an easterly. smile

PS- If you think I can do better than corona's, what do you think is better or would you recommend? poke smile

Lol, getting a bit off topic! Anyway back to the weather at hand. That southerly has cooled things right down and has turned in a light SWly land breeze from the escarpment again. Feels like around 16 or 17C. smile Should be an okay day tomorrow.

Btw, a pedal powered boat would be a pretty cool way to explore the small tributaries that come off Sydney Harbour!

Eddy, the boat looks a bit like one of those little orange hire boats that people get from Nelson Bay, if you know the ones I'm talking about.

That first pic from Eddy reminds me of a thailand resort, be a good spot to shoot a tourism ad. Can't recall a summer with so many still warm days and evenings like today on the coast. So far this year we've only had around 2-3 days with a sea gale but otherwise it's been pretty nice n calm. A few weeks of this a year would be awesome but alas mother nature has other ideas

Steve, I've kayaked up that river right to under the Ryde Rd bridge. It's a very picturesque little paddle.
Mind you, it was pissing down with rain the day I did it and didn't look anything like your photo!!

SM to tell you the truth, I've never been a fan of coronas, I'm a tooheys extra dry man, when I was your age I was a vb drinker, and now that I work in a bottle shop, I'm currently about a third of the way around the shop trying different products! grin

Corlette would most likely had a light SE breeze as well.

Thanks LRH, there have been plenty of ad's and film clips shot in the Port Stephens-Myall Lakes area, Steve777 & Homer probably remember a Coke-Cola ad where a giant beach ball rolled down a sand dune, that was filmed in Hawks Nest. And I was also informed this evening that Icehouse's great southern land was also filmed in the Myall Lakes, so I YouTube it and fair enough it was!!

There you have it, some useless trivia for you! !

Anyway still quite mild here, still in low to mid 20s around here, another night where the sheets aren't needed till about 6am.

I see Nobby's Head has had 8mm of rain late yesterday afternoon, I highly doubt it, surely it's an error?

Lol fair enough Eddy, I haven't had Toohey's extra dry. Should give it a try some time! So you're not a golfy man anymore?

Some interesting trivia, Eddy. smile I don't remember that ad, I probably wasn't even born yet at that time!

That southerly is certainly not a cold change as Bellambi is sitting on 22C atm with a southerly. Albion Park and my area have been taken by the land breeze.
