Is there a Weatherzone forum app available?

Its a true nightmare trying to read on my android, with varying font sizes with each post on the page. Constantly making larger & smaller as I go down the page.

I can barely see what I'm tapping out now.

Is there a work-around if no app.

Anyone else experiencing this?

(Sony Xperia Z using Firefox)

Yep some posts have large font and others very small. Doesn't bother me too much though most the time, although sometimes it's a little annoying. I use a samsung galaxy s4

Thanks for replying Sea-Mist.

I follow the FNQ Cardwell northwards thread under Tropical. It is very very busy with maybe a hundred or more comments a day, in the Wet Season. Also follow the Cyclone threads and they can be way busier when it's happening, especially if following the low pressure system for days beforehand.

So it's really hard not being able to read the posts at a glance.

It's so bad that if there's a cyclone I will have to start my computer up and not use the phone.

I'm surprised that Weatherzone hasn't come up with something that works well on mobile phones yet.

My phone has a very good 5 inch screen, so it's not the size of the phone.

Yea mate happens to me ever since my android last updated. Does not handle this site well. I've brought it up before. I guess it's not an easy fix. I think it's more to do with android than anything else. I have a sony Xperia also on Chrome. So maybey it's the Sony. I will be changing next upgrade to some other phone. Spell check annoys me the most, it's turned off and still changes words on me.

I've got Swiftkey which is usually great, til they updated and now they offer a capital letter to start the word, instead of as a second option.
So - maybe it is android. Will have to grin and bear it, but shouldn't the web people who set up the mobile version account for that as well.

I'll rephrase that. I too would like easy access to forums on my mobile. I am having the same problems as mentioned above. As there is no Weatherzone forum app, I wondered if upgrading to Weatherzone pro might give better access to forums on mobile.

I have now looked into paying for pro but couldn't see anything in the list of features that suggested easy forum access.

So in the meantime I will continue to squint, like everyone else, as I try and navigate the forums on my mobile. laugh

There isn't a Weatherzone Forum app. The main WZ site and the WZ forums are separate from each other, so WZ Pro will give you extra stuff on the main site but the forums stay the same.

I recently emailed Weatherzone to ask when their Weatherzone Pro app for Apple iOS and Android smartphones is going to receive another version update and suggested that they include a forum in the app. I received an email a few days later saying 'that a forum for the Weatherzone Pro app is a new feature that is being considered'.

Please moderators, tell me there is a forum app to come soon. Is anybody working on one? Is there at least a work-around to make it easier.

My current phone is an LG G4 with a 5.5" screen, bigger than the phone I had when I started this thread.

I still use Firefox for everything else, but I simply cannot read the text for the WZ forum unless I enlarge it off the page. Replying is still a nightmare.

Simple answer is the forum was never designed to be used via a phone. Yes that sucks and makes this forum a dinosaur or sorts but it is what we have and like it or not it is all we have to work with and use.

Even if the owner could be talked into a complete redesign there just isn't enough member interest in doing it.

Thanks for your feedback SBT.

Most sites and forums I visit were never designed to be used on a phone, or tablet, but they have gradually moved with the times.

I guess I really don't know much about the forum, aside from the tropical and cyclone threads that I follow.

I don't know who the owner of the forum is, can't see any links to inform me. I always thought it was part of Weatherzone, but it's apparently separate?

Mobile phones and tablets are not going to go away. Are you sure there's not enough member interest?

Cheers
J

I have the same issues and have asked the app designers to include the forum in the app. Im using the Samsung Galaxy S6 so screens big enough but still font changes and goes all weird.

Yes, it's really awful.
I manage to read it on my phone, but replying the font must be something like 1 pt or even less.
