Colesworths have basically driven independents out of rural and regional garages. Competition is very weak and someone's making lots of money off the back of crude oil prices that halved in 6 months.

The ACCC needs to look at this very closely and come down hard on any anti competitive behaviour: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-01-15/accc-admits-petrol-gouging-probably-taking-place/6018368

It's not just country users being ripped off, but diesel users, at least in Sydney. Deisel is still in the $120s/30s, a full 20 cents above unleaded. Normally it's about 5 cents above but sometimes it costs less than unleaded.

Someone is plaing silly buggers with fuel prices.

Perfectly said.

The ACCC are a toothless tiger against the large multi nationals.

its not just the multinationals. the so called independents in Townsville didn't drop their prices either. United and the Townsville family owned distributer which has 8 local Caltex stations failed to pass on the price drops in Townsville until after new year.

97.7 at Port Kembla and 99.9 at Dapto caltex

Has anyone seen it cheaper? It seems like Wollongong has some of the cheapest fuel prices in the state.

Last week petrol prices were $1.309 for unleaded at the independent here in El Arish, yet not more than 10ks up the road at silkwood unleaded was $1.399 at one of the Multi nationals.
Yet at Malanda on the Atherton Tablelands 100 odd ks further north, the price was $1.329 for unleaded.
