Unfortunately I don't have a good view to my west here at work, nice view to the east though!!

Bugger about the car and camera gear there Eddy. Canberra usually isn't too bad for crime just pockets here and there.

Back on topic, radar is showing some promising signs to our west so we might get some showers from this, although sometimes it hits the ranges to the west of Canberra and then dumps it rain and fades to nothing.

Hope your insurance sorts you out EddyG, I've found Canberra to be terrible for that sort of crime since moving here. I lost a $3,000 Mountain bike after getting broken into a few months after I got here. Devo.

Hope it all works out mate.

Back to the weather, hoping to get a good few mm out of these thundery rain patches coming in smile

Not the camera gear!! That's really rotten luck mate. The snowies/brindies will probably steal some of that rain but fingers crossed for you.

Ouch Balmz, no good either. Sadly it can happen anywhere, we lost the wife's handbag out of the car boot years ago and it's not nice.

Looking forward to the cool down from the weekend. smile

Yep the whole lock stock and barrel, I estimate anywhere between 4-5k.

Can only blame myself, arrived back in Canberra late Monday night and thought to myself rather than waking the house mates up with me carrying all my luggage and belongings, I'll deal with it in the morning, a costly decision!!!

Know how you feel Balmz.

Anyway the light rain has cleared and I guesstimate about 2mm fell.

Was pretty light here apart from a 3 minute heavy downpour which may have tipped it up to 1-2 mm like EddyG said.

I'm hoping for some good rain from the upcoming system this weekend. Not sure how it's going to play out yet. BOM don't seem on board yet with forecasts for anything significant.

Only 0.4mm from that little shower, I think Friday is supposed to be the big day for rain.

I told you Canberrians, my storm shield works where ever I go!! Just look at those storms around Goulburn.

Anyway probably another 2mm in the last shower.

Saturday afternoon appears to mark the beginning of an extended period of some very ordinary weather on the NSW coast. All the models agree that ice cream vendors should not even bother to open for business from Sunday. The updated BoM forecast just puts the seal of approval on it.

Some like that weather but for me it is just miserable, wrist slitting torture.

Sooky ice cream vendors, our wonderful ice cream shop (Annies) opens all year round, snow and hail and frost days included!! smile

Anyone travelling here really should visit Annies great place, been open for decades. smile

Eddy, I spy a gap in the storms coming my way too, I know exactly where that gap will end up!! frown smile

Been to Annies manys the time and sat near the Carillon with an ice cream, very nice way to pass the time.

As mentioned above, the extended outlook looking cooler and wetter on the coast, but I don't mind that as much as some here, bring it on I say.

Eddy mate, sad to hear about your camera stuff getting stolen. frown Some people really can be low. The other night when I was driving home from that party on Saturday night, some little S head threw a massive wine bottle at the car. Put a massive dent in the part between the front door and the rear door. If I had of been driving a tiny bit slower, it could've hit my head as I had the window open!!

Anyway Eddy, I hope you somehow get your gear back and that your insurer looks after you. Sorry to hear mate frown

---------

Had a cracker day at the beach with brilliant sunshine and fairly sizeable waves and already a moderate NEer. Water was cool but very refreshing. And then as we got into Dapto we got that half arsed "storm" which is pretty good considering I thought it was gonna be clear all day.

Yes, Eddy, sorry to hear about your camera gear.

Looks like some interesting weather approaching from the SW, although Sydney looks like just getting some showers out of it, if that. There's a Severe Thunderstorm Warning out for the Central Tablands and inland parts of the Illawarra.

A wild storm has passed through Orange in the last 40 minutes...easing off now.
Bucket loads of wind driven rain and plenty of good CG strikes dead ahead of me on my way home from the CBD to the South West burbs of Orange.
It certainly made for an interesting drive home...great excuse not to go for my run/walk tonight !!

Something about mid April and Bom fails, it was april 14th when ozthunder alerted a dozey 4caster to a severe storm intensifying and tracking towards Sydney city only to be dismissed, this is nowhere near as bad but still! 420pm forecast was, Clear... that's it
