Looks to be a wintry blast on the way Friday through Saturday with a vigorous cold front and then a low developing south of Adelaide Friday evening. Anzac dawn service and march will be wet and windy, will need your wet weather gear! Adelaide looking at W-SW 35-50kmh with showers and chance of a storm for Anzac morning. Friday strong winds to gales about YP, EP and southern ranges, with showers and storms developing in the morning. Rainfall totals 10-20mm south central and SE districts, local falls of 20-50mm for mainly in the Adelaide Hills, 2-10mm remaining ag areas, less than 2mm elsewhere!

Ah beat me to it Kym

Yes what looks to be a cut off low and to pack a punch as well. Adelaide is forecasted up to 30mm of rain, hills would be more close to 50-60mm.

Winds would be nasty with this, AccessR saying at 2430AM Saturday winds to peak at 45kts in the Gulf. But def it will be windy for sure.

Rain season should break with this system and lets hope we can get some decent totals down here this time round.

If I can get 25mm, I'll be happy.

For mine this low is moving in a fair deal faster than it was looking, the bulk of the worst weather will be gone before the dawn services now, friday arvo and evening the worst of it with multiple convergent spiral bands coming off the low, the one due during the evening looks to be the most convective of them all.

TS cool

Was planning to take the little one to her first dawn service, might have to postpone that till next year.

Going to need the winds from this low, to blow all the smoke away from all the burn offs around SA! Adelaide covered in it today!

Looks like more of a wind event now, YP and mid North will do the best rain wise, moving way too fast for any good totals and fairly weak

ACCESSR, EC & GFS all have the heaviest showers going over YP and Mid North so the BOM out on a limb there....

I don't have chickens, will use the neighbours cats instead grin

Just for the record, if we just went along in our perfect worlds and went by the forecast of a brain dead society of university grads, then we would all be left up a creek with out a paddle...

And whats with the (storm Disguised) (storm Deprived) bullshit!!

Got something to say, say it?? I'm all ears wink

Just so you all understand why we "in the know" don't use the BOM forecasts like the bible....

This is the main band due in late Friday evening on GFS...
http://wxug.us/1ocb3

This is the same band, same time, on EC...
http://wxug.us/1ocb5

Both have pretty much nothing for Adelaide, and it mostly going thru YP & the Mid North

So unless I see a justification somewhere that its different to the above, we will get bugger all up to 5mm "maybe", and "maybe" 5-10 for the Hills!

ACCESS-G totals to 9:30am Saturday...

ACCESS-R totals to 9:30am Saturday...

Sorry folks, Models are not on our side for this one, lets hope we get lucky, or at least those who really need it get a drop. I'm sure the Yorkies farmers will welcome 10-20mm
