Hehehehe Knot. wink

Anyway we have a hell of a lot of wood and a decent fire goin while admiring the view. It's pretty mad!!

Mostly clear with a cool and light SEer. Feels like about 11 or 12C. So thankful it's not raining like the Hunter!!

Nice bit of rain possible for inland NSW as the trough approaches
This snap is for the 19thMay
There has been a bit of a downgrade for that cold pool for NSW as well currently

Yes EddyG, I've noticed Gosford seems to attract high rainfall totals, especially when we get a moist east to south easterly.

The topography does climb suddenly just in from the coast here. I'm no expert but maybe the hills around here force the clouds to drop their load so to speak. When I get around to it I might do a little historical rainfall comparison to confirm my dodgy observations.

Gfs and EC are presenting a very different view of the near future to that presaged by Access. The latter has an East Coast low in all its glory on Thursday. GFS and EC are expecting long fetch Southerlies.

The key difference seems to be the way the high ridges Eastwards at about 45 deg South in Access, cradling the low and blocking anything from the South.

The BOM's 4 day charts look more like the GFS/EC scenario, with a cold front passing across NSW on Wednesday: http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/4day_col.shtml

Meanwhile, the mild temperatures forecast look more like Access.

I have no idea which one is more likely to be correct - hopefully GFS. We need another ECL like we need a sore head.

Strange, showers are still moving in from the SE. I see Newcastle had quite a drop today 25mm.
Wife has said we have had about 20mm back home!!

ACCESS, GFS and EC now all agree on an East Coast Low for Thursday into Friday, so it's on.

It started sunny here, with a cloud bank to the East which now seems to be moving in.

Nice, not!! I actually head home Wednesday night for a couple of days, looks like I'll be stuck indoors.

Anyway another cracker of a day coming up in Canberra, chilly start to the morning -2, nice frost about.

Was quite suprised myself to get out of car at Newie harbour and be smacked in the face by a brisk Nwester. I watched shower trains keep pumping from the south and SE and headed towards Newie yesterday from my vantage point at Swansea Heads. Was expecting to encounter a southerly in town.

Still a lot of grey about.

Back home now. Had an awesome time camping with my friends. The weather was very good. In fact I was quite surprised at how nice it was. Earlier this morning there was some cool areas of fog that looked epic when the sun came out.

I might post some pics later.

Don't like the talk of the ECL. I spotted it on the models yesterday morning and it hasn't gone away so I guess it's on..

Lol Eddy of course!!! It's like with me it always rains in the school holidays. poke

This is a pic of the fog making the shadows and the sun look really cool. Thanks Knot, I uploaded it to Imgur and it was so easy. I just hope the photo doesn't eventually go away on the forum with time.

Both these are looking NE towards Wollongong. The suburb in the foreground is where I live.

Here is one for you Steve777. I found it engraved up there. smile

Anyway to the weather. It's quite a cold night here. Already below 10C here I suspect as it's 10 at Albion Park. Cooma Ap is almost -2C.

Love the pics WR. Looks like a great view from where u were. Is there a road up that mt? Similar to our Mt Sugarloaf maybe.

A very brief shower a mome ago. Not much in it. Quite mild at around 17

Cheers Knotty. Yeah, it's even better in reality! And the lights at night with a blazin fire is just amazing.

There is a road up to probably just below halfway (I think it goes to 230m from memory). Then you have to walk up the top from there which is a hard walk as it's very steep in parts. So worth it up when you get up there though.

Is Mt Sugarloaf part of the Watagans?? My dad wants to take me and bro camping up the Watagans as he lives in Newy. Also, can you suggest a few decent camping spots around your area??
