You should be a writer ASF Maybe you are. Actually felt like I was on the train. So detailed. You certainly got a mixed bag of weather up this way.

Still a few showers about.
Nobbys temp on way up with a SEaster off the warmish ocean. Nearly up to what it was around midday.Norah cooler with a WSW. More of a SWester here in the middle.

Same for me with being on train. Might as well hav e been there!!

Anyway mostly sunny weekend on the cards by the looks of things.

In other news, it looks like another obese high will park its fat backside into the bight and sit there directing pitiful SE winds onto the NSW coast from mid next week.
Onshore winds in winter, pfft give us a break. I would take a thousand cold westerlies over goddamn scumtherlies and sour-easterlies (SElies).
Looking at the models: The highs aren't moving north any time soon either...

I mirror Knot's comments from a few pages back in this thread.

It's taking awhile to warm up this morning, in fact it feels colder now than it did an hour ago.
Nice frost again, I wonder if DaveM got his frost this morning? Looking at obs for Bathurst it would be only a very light patchy frost at best.

Hey Eddy, yes mate 13 degrees can be (often is) positively tropical but sometimes bone chilling too, depends on cloud and wind. grin

You do finish your work quite late some days!! Would be quite chilly at times for you. smile

Looking at Bx obs (Airport) one would assume "no frost". HOWEVER obviously this is one of those days (and there are plenty) when the airport and town vary quite a bit.

We had heavy fog AS WELL AS a strong frost in town. Not a minus temp but certainly in places around zero.

The airport must have fogged earlier than town and that blanket kept the warmth up a bit.

Actually, thinking about last night a bit further, we had easterly cloud coming over us (thanks you coasties!!) But I could see a clearance just to my west. Later what may have also happened is that the clearance came over us but not the airport. That also happens from time to time with Easterly quadrant stuff, often the borderline is very much close to here. Other times it snaps off directly above Yetholme.

I'm guessing there is still a big fog over Cooma - 99% humidity and still just 2.1 deg's at 11.00 am.
I drove into one of those a few years ago.
It was midday, the temp was still minus one and there was frost everywhere when we reached just south of Bredbo. It lasted till about Cooma Airport, where it was then clear and sunny and no frost as soon as we exited the fog. Temp rose to about 3 deg's, and in Kalkite, there were still frozen roadside puddles at 3pm.
It was quite amazing.

Wow at those temps!! Cooma airport must have been under fog. Or a big inversion at Perisher because 12 at Perisher is damned warm for June!!

Very similar day to yesterday. A few showers from a grey sky. Temp around 16. Newie hit forecast of 17 mid morning so dropped back. Wind can't can't make up its mind. All over the shop.

Currently 15.1 here. Overcast, as it has been all day.

Very lucky to have the sun shining here just 100kms south at Shellharbour. Around 18C.

Yeh, I can see on the vis sat pic that it is clear down there.
That extra sun warms things up nicely. Lucky you.

Yes a nice 14 or 15 here - FULL SUNSHINE. grin

Max so far 15.5 at the airport, town could be a tad warmer, lovely Tablelands weather, just like Eddy has. smile

Homer - pretty sure you were thinking fog as well of course. BUT I think the high temp at Perisher is the real culprit for the difference. Warm winds aloft I suspect.

2 days in a row now that I've had a max lower than Bathurst. Woohoo!!

Yep, no doubt that the warmer air aloft is the culprit, and a fair chance that it was the fog that kept things cold at Cooma.
