Thought a few drops might have been in offing around 3 this arvo but the cloud headed off towards the NE. The SW breeze was refreshing.

Nice sunset pics Steve. What was the cause of that sunset? Because there's no visible cloud that would cause the nice colours. It looks like it would be dust or haze or something like that.

Anyway perfectly sunny morning here but very cold. Only 3C at Albion Park at 7:30. Should warm up quickly as the sun takes effect though.

Back in Canberra for the next week, nice and foggy this morning, visibility about 200 meters atm. Should clear to a nice day.

Nice pics Steve777.

Nice pic Mr Ed. Things have warmed up quickly here. Already 16C at 10am; I think it will only get a couple degrees higher today. It wouldn't surprise me if we got a light E or NE seabreeze later on.

Enjoy your week in Canberra. It looks like you will have plenty sunshine to enjoy!! Looks like the fog will have to clear first though. wink

Not long after that pic was taken it got even thicker, but has thinned considerably now, no sign of the sun on this side of the hill as yet.

We still have fog in areas around here too although it is breaking up. I can see a fog bank just about 1km a way for instance.

It was about -2 here overnight but it felt colder with the heavy fog.

Lovely sun though when under a blue patch. grin

Beautiful day here today once again, although it did feel slightly cool when the NEer came up in the early afternoon. In fact I would say 11 or 12 o'clock was the warmest feeling part of the day.

It was starting to really cool down even before the sun set. Going to be chilly one tonight. Probably will drop to about 3 or 4C.

It was quite clear at sunset yesterday. Those pictures were taken with an iphone and I used Pic Shop Lite to increase the contrast and the saturation to bring out the subtleties of the colours.

The pictures that I linked were taken from Warners Bay Lions Park.

Good stuff Steve. Heading up to my grandma and pops place in the southern highlands on Tuesday so I will get to experience some proper cold. Should see some decent frosts up there. I'll be just like Eddy in Canberra and Dave in Bathurst!! smile

Cheers Knot, yeah hopefully I will catch a nice frost with any luck.

Brrr it was cold this morning. Min was 1.4C at Albion Park!! As I have said before, we always seem to get our coldest nights after an easterly in winter.

Extremely pathetic bit of a south change today. Newie nearly got to 20. Nobbys will come in above av this month. Thanx to incessant nor westers. Norah will be about av. And of course OH well above av max for June.June1957 been mentioned before in this thread and snow thread as holding record for av max at OH of 20.3. It hit 23.9 on the 28th also. A strong El Nino kicked in that year. I take heart though as July 1957 at OH was below av for min and max. August that year was slightly above fir av min but once again below av for max. September was below av for min and max. Lets hope same this year. Enjoyed a nice beach fire last nite. Very satisfying but overly dewy for my tastes.

Lol was it an illegal beach fire like my one? poke

Wow 20.3C for the average max in June 1957. How nice would that be!!

Eddy, it sounds like you've had your fair share of fog lately. Wonder if you'll get another pea souper tomorrow morning. smile

Well so far the max temp at Bellambi Pt is bang on average at 17.6C so this June and with the next couple of days around 17 or 18 I don't think that will change by any more than 2 hundredth's of a degree. Meanwhile Albion Park is tracking 0.1C above avg at 18.2C.

Today was almost a carbon copy of yesterday here except there is a bit of cloud this arvo because winds on the coast are southerly today. Here though it's a light NEer and around 17C. The 18 degree mark seems to be the threshold for a seabreeze to form which means the water temp must be around that mark.

Perfectly legit. The only prob was the condensation making everything feel damp.. I'm blown away by 1957 too WR. Not because I would have welcomed the warmth. But for the reason that when we think we are having an unseasonal warm streak or the news is full of doom and gloom about the topic we can't talk about, its refreshing that the past had warm spells that people experienced without any of apocalyptic hysterical fear mongering we get bombarded with today.
