All true - but that doesn't mean we should ignore the thread. If anything snow-like happens here, that's where I'll report it.

It's a really foul and windy afternoon here. Freezing cold. Hit a top of just 9C at Moss Vale and we had a few periods of drizzle for about 30 mins around 2pm ish. It would be really nice to wake up to some snow in the morning but I don't think that will be happening.

If we do get some, I will be posting it in this thread because this is where everyone else is posting.

Well it got to 10c here in Canberra, don't know how!!
Anyway cloud has cleared the winds have dropped, bring on the big frosty morning.

Here is a pic of the last cloud moving over, I just wonder, is that snow falling from it?

This is more like winter. I've got 1957 on the brain. A warmer than average June followed by a colder than average July, August and Sep. Heck I've cracked open a can of Tomato soup to welcome this weather. Brrrrrrrr

I've cracked opened a nice bottle of 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon to welcome this weather. Dry July lasted all of 42 hours!!

Ahh a nice wine. An open fire. What else doth a man require. ' Fetch me slippers will ya sweetie!!!!!' he he he

Hahaha nice Eddy!! Well we got a -4C at Moss Vale but I don't think it was quite that cold here. There is lots of frost in the bottom paddocks but no so much up here on the hill

Coldest morning of the year here, about -5 and surely the best frost.

Tennis was a tad chilly last night.

Love the golf ball shot Eddy.

Spectacular sunny morning at Perisher, very cool, but relatively still. Not enough snow to ski on, but very pretty. Snowmaking doing an impressive job and providing enough skiing if you are willing to wait in queues.

Thanks guys, turning into a spectacular day, clear clean skies.
Still a few patches of frost about the shaded areas.

Certainly clear and crisp in Canberra Eddy. What's the July min record there Eddy?

Not as cold early this morning as yesterday but still cold at around 8. Nearly 15 here in Newie. Some high level cloud west/sw. Lovin it. But my hands hate it. Cracks a plenty

-5.7 deg's in Young this morning. Pretty good effort. I know where Woolies get their frozen cherries from now.
Maxed out at 13.7 deg's here today. I'm loving these cool Hills District temps of late. Currently 13.1 deg's. Can't see it getting warmer again today, so it should start plummeting once the sun disappears behind the hill shortly. Fire is roaring in anticipation.

Homer.

That's fine, and nobody is ignoring the snow section, Snowforus.
I suppose this was just a pretty average change, and not worthy of it's own thread - hence the comments in the Day to Day.
Anytime there is a significant event happening - particularly snow wise, there will always be a thread started in the snow section, and consequently, all the discussion will happen there.
I suspect there will be some decent discussion in the Snow forums over the next two weeks. Models are looking far more promising.

Homer.

What a beautiful afternoon here in the southern highlands. I was driving back from Bowral (about a half hour drive) and it just felt so peaceful. It's currently 8C with no wind and crystal clear blue skies. It might only be single digits but it is still so pleasant out there.
