a simple title to another week of anal weather.
a fine day tomorrow and at least the first part of tuesday by
the looks, after that it's back on the hurdy gurdy.
as things stand at the moment there's 3 main fronts coming
through and whatever assortmant of embedded pocket rockets
and convergance zones.
other than the first front gfs has us riding a gentle swell
of fronts on the 540 line but access is more exciting and
has us surfing the breakers.
the other thing of note is at least with the first front
there is a bit of a nw infeed which will help with rainfall
totals, especially further inland.
that infeed may or may not hook up with the other fronts
for us but not at the moment.
after all the fronts there should be the usual fine up and
bone cracking frosts.
had a mongeral one this morning btw.
a week is a long time in wx so things could change a bit
that far out but those fronts are pretty much locked and
loaded.

cloud cover on an approaching front coming across before
sunrise after a clear frosty night is a recipe for some
seriously low maximum temps around the state, when i was
in the se it was setups like this with northerly winds that
gave us our coldest days with maximums of around 8, one
would look forward to the front coming through to warm things
up a bit.

Looks like maybe 5-10mm overnight for the city I'd say. Drying up pretty quickly by morning though.
Friday's front looks better IMO, although likely to change as we get closer.

Looks like a weak form of Mammatus to me, Similar skies at home a couple of hours ago,

Radar not looking promising at this stage as well as its just evaporating on the way down.

Friday and Saturday look like the promising days with up to 30mm total over both days up my way.

Tried to rain earlier in the evening here in gulfview heights, but not enough to register in the gauge.

While waiting for the aircraft with the Liverpool football team on board to take off, despite the northerly wind, it was bitterly cold at the airport this afternoon.

must have got a microburst out of that prefrontal tripe
around 8:00ish last night, blew for around 1-2mins then
nothing, strong enuff to blow full bins over.
no low statewide maximums worth writing home to mum about,
and no significant rainfall despite a bit of a nw hookup.
everytime i 'think' something is going to happen it happens,
everytime i say something will or should happen it doesn't.
i mean seriously, wtf, i gotta shaddup.

As this thread indicated 21st to 28th, and this the 22nd (~ 1 day in), there are 6 days (~ a week) to go before the events this thread covers pass into history. While this does not guarantee spectacular weather, it is winter, and in winter...you expect winter weather for the most part, with the exception of a few outliers or aberrations. Therefore I await to find out what happens in the next 6 days, hopefully with some reasonable judgment and without too much hype smile !

i don't get what that last post of your's means Olaf,
prolly just me being thick.
large shower to the north on me yesterday around 4pm moving
through the airport and cbd, one of TS's favourites... big
convective slow moving zombie, not exactly HP but enuff to
make one wet.
upcoming weather's a bit like a washing machine at the
moment but the big picture basically paints a crappy
weekend and about as cold as this thread.
i just wish this polar pulse would bugger off and give
a chance for some slightly warmer temps to come back.
