Can anyone suggest a business in Australia where I can get a quality sling psychrometer for a decent price?

I could help, but I don't know what is meant by "decent price."

"Decent" appropriate; fitting
"Price" the amount of money expected, required or given in payment for something.

Geez Grahan, Someone was looking to help if they could gauge what you would except as a decent price. Instead you return with a sarcastic response. I would expect your post to remain dormant for another couple of years.

"Sarcastic" Marked by or given to using irony in order to mock or convey contempt.

And it's "accept", not "except".

Yeah graham fair point you have proved your intellect in responding with definitions and highlighting small stuff ups on my behalf. Perhaps you may not want to turn on people who try to help you in your quests. Now if only you could use that same demonstrated intellect to solve your own issue.

Thank you. I've enjoyed our little argy bargy on a rather quiet Friday morning. We must do it again some time.

Have a good day!

EBAY - LESS THAN 30SECONDS - Quite a few, saw one X $75' ish, you will need to be the judge of if its any good.

Others double that price.

I didn't, but googling the topic was interesting. The first recorded instrument for measuring humidity was basically a balance with a lump of charcoal and a lump of dirt. Higher humidity made the charcoal heavier. Then they used a human hair as humidity changes the length of hair.

cheers

Yes, quite straight forward I would have thought. They could have just asked what you saw as a fair price.

I googled "sling psychrometer price" and they seem to vary from a kit at around $9.00 to $Hundreds . I'd imagine you get what you pay for?

Or Graham M Could have in his original post stated what he deemed to be a decent price. Without the need to shoot down the first person who asked what graham m thought was decent.

A man walks into a car yard and asks "Do you have a car for a decent price?" Dealer responds "What is decent for you in price terms?" They both don't blindly waste each others time playing a guessing game.

Thank you, Foehn correspondent. I may give them a go. $175 would be reasonable for a BoM-standard professional instrument, but this one looks a bit small and plasticky for the money. Still, I'll sleep on it.

There is a sling psychrometer available from Instrument Choice (see their website) for around $160. Best of luck. Bear in mind that's current. If it's not a suitable/fair price for your needs, then look around smile .
