Brilliant video! Some lovely footage... my favourite being the heavy falling snow. It reminds me of the Qld snow I enjoyed back on July 17... except there seemed to be a shipload more in your event... duh lol

Thanks everyone for the regular updates. Fingers crossed for another great round of falls Wednesday.

Awesome pics! That is some serious snow!
SF-Snowies, do you guys have any timings on Wednesday as yet?
I would like to get to a position where I can film the snow accumulation in time lapse.

Very icy here this morning, got own to 0.4 degrees for a short time last night and sat on 2 degrees for a while and froze the lot.
Temp now 4.6 degrees.

Vinces Saddle is closed again due to truck blocking all North bound lanes.

Has been wind but still very icy.

Hey WTV - enjoyed the video greatly, had fun working out where you were in it, reckon I got it right. Really nice snow in that sheltered gully near the really flash old place on the Fern Tree Neika road. The snow blowing out of their pines was good.

Certainly plenty of snow on the sheltered sections of the road. Plenty heading up towards Vince's as well.

A.L - wow at the snow up the Highlands!! smile

Dan - nice analysis re the events. Yes 2005 might be in the topics in here or were we talking more in Stormplanet then? Oh and nice effort with a skin of snow in your yard grin

Payshense did well, Waratah should have been VERY speccie.

Enjoy tonight!! smile

Had a chat to a couple locals at Great Lake on the phone, HWY up there still closed grader struggling with the ice on the hill near the Lodge and there was 45cm of snow there.

Tods Corner had 40cm of snow.

Long wait for them to get out up there with more snow tonight and Monday next week.

Still patches of snow here but has been windy.

Temp made it to 8.7 degrees, now falling with the odd light shower.

7.5 degrees.

Hi all

top of 4 today, was sub zero on daybreak. Overcast, 10-20kts NW

Snow is pretty much intact due to being frozen last night. Rain has thinned it out a bit.

Will we get more low level snow in next day or so?

Looks like the 532 thickness starting to drift over us from this evening and the entire state being at least under 532 until tomorrow afternoon.
The 520 thickness is briefly over the South of the State in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Maybe more low level down South this time and further falls for the rest of us above 200-300m ASL.

What do you all think?

We'll just have to wait and see. smile

Hi all,

Temp here is now 3.9 degrees, down from 8.7 degrees today.

6.6mm so far out of the cold front.

Looking good for snow to at least 200m with 3-5cm me thinks. Some lighter falls to 100m still a chance around Hobart.

The ground is still very cold.

Laps rates are tight tonight, -1.1 degrees on Mt 1260m and 3.9 degrees here and raining.
