Wow, the satpic is one for the archives! Watching that low tracking northwards from directly below the SE tip of Tassie. A rare one!

Looking fwd to your reports. smile

Best hail storm for years (120m level) on Huon Rd, South Hobart. Everything turned white, car, lawn and road. Been like an August of old (1960-70s).

Sat looks great, but it will warm slightly by the look! Was going to pop in this arvo SF but young fella was asleep in car!

Hail/sleet shower at the uni today, around lunchtime. Full on sleet with flakes in Mt Nelson at around 6pm. Decent sleet with rain in Kingston around 6:25. Great day!
I drove through the hailstorm on the outlet as well today, it was thick, white and slushy. Ive never seen it like that on the outlet before.

Hi all just got home after big shower went through, 0.5cm of slushy but white snow every where. Temps been down to 0.7 degree currently 1.1 degree and big fat flakes falling.

lots of hail about tonight as well.

Vinces Saddle closed Southbound lane atm.

Police were down there shutting the rd when I went through.

Kinda new the weather was meant to turn SE, but didn't notice the low level snow sneak into the forecast. Would have suspected it either given the spring like weather most of this week (up this end of tas), only looked at the weather twice when I saw it cooling off so much tonight and heading for an early frost - although today was cooler than yesterday, which was a jeans and t-shirt day. Looks to be turning back to rain tonight and clearing tomorrow.

Anyway, aside from a day of rain last week, been pretty quiet on the weather front up north (plus a few frosts). Looking forward to the warmer, longer days.

Been off work for 3 weeks, but been put to hard manual labor for most of it, cleaning, painting, pulling out the old fish pond + buying a car. Would have been easier to go to work...

It's a very close thing, but Hobart possibly heading for the coldest August since 1976 ( min+max combined ). If we don't manage that it will definitely be the coldest since 1990.
