Coldest winter I have lived in me thinks and I am 34!!!!

Max 6.6 degrees and damp a bit of drizzle.

Snow was very thick on Vices Saddle this morning and lasted all day with rain on it at 500m.

Nieka which is just a little further East maybe 7km no snow this morning, even at 500m.

Snow was still down at Dip rd near Grove at 10.30am.
Height about 180 to 220m.

A friend at Kaoota had 50mm this morning and 4cm of snow at 360m.

We only had 27mm and 0.5cm at 310m.

Snow was way lower near his place and Vinces Saddle.

Very interesting month.

Never thought I would say this but................ Bring on summer😅

Clear, calm and cool.

Glorious sunny days.

Good frost this morning.

7 overcast with showers

Due to the lack of any significant weather. Thought I would post this photo I took on my way to Hobart last Friday. Still good snow coverage on many of our higher peaks.

Frenchman's Cap - Elevation 1,446m
(Viewed from Lyell Highway at a distance of approximately 15klm)

Well done P. I know exactly where you took that. I have a few just like it. grin

It's a good looking mountain. smile

7 degrees is pretty fresh. About double that here at the moment, will be cooler tomorrow though here.

Snowing around Mt Macedon in Vic, the centre of the low is in Bass St. Maybe if the wind gets southerly enough some flakeage may be nearby.

1.8 degrees on Mt W and light precip, could be an occasional flake shooting past.

How long has Mt Read been off the air?

Well Dave, after typing up a storm, which in my state took some time. I managed to hit the wrong key and lost everything I'd wrote. crazy

So here's the condensed version. Its been of the air for quite some time now. smile

This is where I personally like the idea of individual event based threads. So easy to refer back to at a later date. grin

smile Thanks P, I'd noticed it on and off for a while and wasn't sure whether I had just picked off days. Shame about that, it's a handy spot for temps for elevated areas over that side.

Howdy SF smile

Haha Dave, I struggle to hike out to the back paddock. Just checking it out on Google Earth. Appears to be quite a track to the summit.

While on the subject of Mount Read. Did you know that one of the oldest stands of Huon Pines exists near the summit. Bit of light reading...

I see it is warming up down there, just in time for my next trip in October. Loving the weather info everyone. I think it is even busier than our NQ thread, not that that would be hard at the moment.
