Got to 38 at my place today. Everything here has browned off to even with sugarcane mulch around the tomatoes isn't holding the moisture in.

Well over this stupid dry weather, feel like I have moved to Perth. Fingers crossed for at least a storm next week.

Douane.

Wow Duane, that's pretty hot, not sure what it got to in Canberra I would imagine the low 30s, even had some late rain, only enough to wet the ground though.

It was beautiful in Lane Cove National Park today. It was day of strong sun and cool breezes in Sydney's East, getting hotter as you got further from the beach:

24 on the beach (Bellambi)
26 on the Harbour (OH)
28-30 in the 'Middle Ring' (e.g. Olympic Park, Bankstown)
31-33 in the outer West (e.g Penrith)

The Beach cams showed big crowds. Ice cream vendors would have been happy. Hopefully they used lots of sunscreen or there might be some nasty cases of sunburn tonight.

Yes indeed it was a nice day until late in the afternoon where it fully clouded over, first with high cloud and then low cloud from the south. Did that happen in Sydney?

I've been indoors since about 5:00PM. Just looked out the window and there's a bit of cloud about, maybe 5/8 for that part of the sky I can see (Southwards). The breeze is light, warm and humid, not the chilly breeze of yesterday afternoon.

There's some mid-level could plus some blowing low cloud to the East. I note the wind has shifted South of East, which brings in the scud. But there's a massive band of mid level cloud moving in from the SW just brushing Sydney at the moment.

Gorgeous day today.
Hot, sunny, clear, not too humid.
Cooling seabreeze.
Perfect summer's day, although a bit warm to be doing all the gardening in preparation for Christmas Day celebrations.
Moved plenty of furniture as well for the same thing, after having new carpet laid.

Busy day. But lovely.

Seriously noted how much I had to water the garden though, after I'd bought a few colourful annuals to plant. The moisture depth was shallow in the gardens.

32.9C at my place in Monash, then the cloud rolled in and got about two spots of rain nothing in the gauge meanwhile the easterly came in and cooled things off a little. 19.2C now and its pretty cloudy. Very dry here too I had the whipper snipper going in the veggie beds earlier to cut down some weeds and the amount of dust being kicked up created its own fog. They keep promising rain maybe a chance next week?

Thanks Steve, yeah the cloud came in pretty late here at about 6pm. It wasn't the usual fast moving horizontal scud. It was a bit built up, almost like dark grey cumulus. So I guess it did reach Sydney

Was at the parents place this evening enjoying dinner, when I heard a funny noise on the roof. Rain! It was actually moderate rainfall for about 10 minutes there, enough to give the garden a water and 3mms in the gauge.

Yeah pretty much Nowra, just a few kilometers north of Nowra ( Bomaderry) I was surprised to hear the rain, as I hadn't seen radar for a few hours. We haven't had anything other than light mizzle for a few weeks either!

Cheers ping, I was just clarifying the location for my own curiosity. I'm not too surprised actually; the clouds did look pretty dark down there while I was surfing.

Forecast for Nowra was 20% chance of a shower, so I suppose they got it right.

It's a shame things aren't a bit more explosive at the moment, but during my 50 years, there's always quiet times in weather which are really boring. I found today's weather hot, pleasant and boring.

Homer.

Well it's mostly cloudy today still. I notice the BoM 'sneakily' downgraded the max from 26 when I checked at about 6am to 25C when I checked just earlier. It's quite cool too and it's not warming up any time soon, but I don't care because what a great weekend of weather!

Pretty warm weekend out here for December. House is not cooling much of a night any more. Full sunshine all the time makes it feel much hotter than the thermometer says it is.

Our October was hot, out November was hot and I daresay December will be the same.

Long term GFS (la la land) says though that the heat may back off around Tuesday/Wed next week and stay away for maybe a week.

Tassie looking at a not bad cold change again this Friday or so. Maybe the cool air will permeate further north for a change. smile

RAINDROPS Pingy, wow what a nice thought. grin

It will do what it wants to do, we can only watch. grin

Be nice if we had something interesting to watch though!!! grin

Well I amazingly heard rain earlier this arvo. And by rain I mean a few big drops. It was enough to create that smell of rain but not enough to even wet the ground fully, let alone soak into the soil. Just as I'm posting this, it has started raining lightly again. It looks like more on the radar but it's nothing noteworthy.

It was mostly cloudy today. There were a few sunny breaks in the afternoon but the bulk of the day has been cloudy, either with low cloud in the morning or mid-level cloud this arvo. Wasn't overly warm today with the temp reaching 25C with a moderate NEer and cloud that kept things feeling mild.

Hi guys, long time no posts.
Always love reading everyone's contributions as a daily spider tho!,
If I didn't know better I'd expect to see a light show or something tonight, the clouds to the south from my angle look formed enough for it.

Looking forward to see what comes of Wednesday, hasn't rained in weeks here,
Beautiful weather for most but boring for me as I work in a 40 degree kitchen all day at the beach, love too watch a storm roll in over the beach when working hiding on the radar pretending I'm using Facebook haha,
Might see the remnants of a storm tomorrow, a mil
At the most I recon.

Hey Andrew, long time no see!! Good to hear from you again.

Yeah I'm keen to see what Wednesday brings too. I haven't had a storm in nearly a month. Even just some rain would be nice.
