Yep. Pretty much constant flashes off the coast of the Northern Beaches. Some of those CGs are jaw dropping.

Of course it is God's home here so he's just putting on a Christmas show for the locals.

Not to sure on that Jimi. i think the Southerly will shut anything more here down frown

Actually, I retract that. You may cop something on the Northside shortly

Yeah I agree with you. The southerly is sparking storms up with the added moisture but it will also shut them down before long too.

I'll eat my words as well..

The lightning just off the coast is still going crazy. The best light show I've seen in ages and still going.

I'm slowly loosing my view to the NE due to trees but still had one to land in the right spot.

Yes, great pic Ben and Marts.

That is a great light show off the coast. I just went out on the balcony to see if I could catch a view of the cell moving through SW Sydney and caught flashes and CGs off to the East. I don't have a good view here but it must be amazing on the coast.

I'm getting a few rumbles again, but this latest cell looks like passing to the South. More rain for the CBD and Eastern suburbs. Then that will probably be it for Sydney for tonight.

It's been an interesting evening, even if the cells have been avoiding me.

Great photos guys, well done!!

Well quite a warm morning in Canberra this morning, early cloud is burning off quite quickly.

Looking forward to the drive home, especially if there is a storm or two!

We had a really good light show but very little precip at my place. The absolute best of the storm was just a tiny bit north of here, some places would have copped it nicely. We would have struggled to make 1 or 2 mm.

Big fat drops and lots of CG's. Unfortunately I have now real outlook from home and didn't take any photos. I wasn't expecting it to be as interesting as it was given that it looked to be fizzing as it went over our Bathurst bowl.

Great to see a lot of posters come out of the woodwork with this. smile

Rapid appearance of mushrooms on the NSW sat pic in the last hour or two - Mainly central areas. Possibly lead to more development as the trough transits.

Yesterday saw my second bust chase day of the season.

I was in Kiama for an hour or so between 3-4pm watching the scrappy storms spark up right on the coast. They were battling with a lack of moisture, but improved as they moved further offshore into richer moisture. I saw a few cg's and time lapsed for a while. Then I noticed the action on radar out towards Cowra ,I automatically knew that was the trough , and it looked like Sydney was lined up perfectly for it. So I made the drive to Richmond and then the Hornsby general area. Sadly the storms in the basin fired east of me , and as a result moved further away, and the Lithgow stuff failed to move off the ranges, so I was stuck in an area of no storms sadly. I had to settle for an amazing sunset, and some distant sunset bolts to the east. I also got a distant view of the spectacular Wyong storm , wow at the cg rate on that! Massive spectacular cg's raining down, but I was about 50kms away, so only average pics.

Yes Dave here's hoping for another storm this arvo.
Last nights storm here was a beauty. Stacks of lightning CC and CG, torrential rain, strong wind gusts and even some hail. It was spectacular to watch in the dark through the lounge room window. Had the whole family standing there watching in awe.

Some lovely colour in those photos from yesterday's storms. Well done to all. As the sunset storm passed to the south of Parramatta I got the following shot.
