Cleve has now had 15mm which breaks the 100mm mark for the month there. Also breaking the March record set in 1983.
Another storm about to hit them too...

The way we are lately I don't know why I even look at the rain an storms. We are sure to miss them always lately and that's that!
May as well keep gardening and try and forget about it all! What a storm deprived place this is in reality!...Sorry, Whinge not allowed!
Mid Autumn to End of Spring rains are all we get normally...unless somehow there is a rare fluke!

I reckon by some strange miriad of factors, Cleve attracts storms from all directions. Place to live in SA, almost always gets them, Cleve area!

Cleve up to 28mm..... whistle

If that blob of rain holds together, its also going to give Kadina etc another drenching as well....

A few small cells trying to establish in the gulfs south of that area which hopefully might bring us something tonight. Best instability still goes over Adelaide around midnight or so... but its a lot weaker by then.

Yeah, the "Notes on the Weather" does state that everything will start to extend in a SE'ly direction briefly in the morning (so I'm assuming between about midnight and sunrise) before all clearing away. I doubt we will see anything but it would be nice to have a few sparks wake us up overnight smile

I actually managed a couple of VERY distant bolt shots from my roof just then.

worth posting online Chris? Or are they too far away?

For a system not exactly forecast this is doing pretty well....
You Whyalla guys look like getting a decent drink in the next few hours too.... Might even extend into the Mid North and up to Helen...

Those small cells in the gulfs still there & giving me some probably false hope of something a bit later....
edit: couple of strikes in one cell off the foot of YP now... Could be interesting by midnight-ish...

Highly unusual anomoly on the womera radar tonight around the hours of 8:40 pm to about 9:40 pm, looks a bit like a wind change / front / trough line come possibly a squall ???,,, not what i'd call a normal radar feature .. any thoughts anybody?

hey Weather Guru, not quite sure about up that way but what made me think twice was the lack of a seabreeze here today, and you would be forgiven by thinking that seabreeze was responsible for enhancing the cells in central EP by the shape and hugging the coast then travelling east, which Im not so sure about seeing as it was easterly here when I observed and looking back at the stormtracker etc...
so you could rule that out I guess......anyone with techy knowledge know more???

Almost not worth posting, and I wouldn't normally post bolts of this quality except that these are the only ones for Adelaide in a while, and there the first bolts from my new camera. The where about 95km away near Maitland on the YP. I cant wait to shoot some closer storms from the roof. I've got unobstructed views of all but the south quadrant, and even anything within 30km would stand out to the south.

Was a bit warm and humid at home this morning.

This afternoon flew to Pt Augusta and return. Here in Adelaide cloud looked like stratus cloud to me and was fairly high. No turbulence leaving Adelaide but I think there was some cumulus cloud out Pt Augusta way as there was some turbulence as we got closer.

Returning to Adelaide it was a bit rough up north, but closer to Adelaide it was smooth. When I got off the plane I felt half a dozen raindrops.

when I got home I found there was 0.2mm in the gauge.

Went out for a little drive last night and ended up at Wallaroo. Lightning was reasonably infrequent and most of the CG's I saw were while I was driving grin Anyway this is probably the only shot worth posting... frown

"Went out for a little drive last night and ended up at Wallaroo" - ha ha laugh - a well-known phenomenon for chasers - as TE can doubtless testify poke Be thankful you didn't end up at Ernabella frown
It's a nice shot - with enough light in the sky to add the perspective of some blue sky and landscape.
Good on you for getting out there!
So far so good Chris with your camera smile
Pretty sunset shots Sarah - I was hoping someone would photo it as I watered plants.
Great panorama there Azza. I like your lightning shots too. Coffin Bay seems to be a storm hot spot as well as the eastern inland EP under your panorama but for different reasons.

I ended up with 1.2mm last night and 3.2mm at the airport 2km away from me.
Better then a kick in the teeth i guess considering none of this was on the forecast 2 days ago lol
