That's some solid looking cloud smile

Hard to find more than half a dozen scattered tiny puff balls out here smile

Nice pic and similar weather here Steve (except it appears to be sunnier down here), with the convective cloud to the south. Apart from that it's sunny and mild. In fact it is really pleasant today, much to my surprise. 22C and light SE winds, can't really complain.

It's fine and partly cloudy here, with blue sky, some interesting clouds and some convection evident. There've been a couple of light showers overnight and this morning.

Those of us that live from Parramatta westwards will probably scrape another 30c day on Saturday, 26c forecast for the coast / eastern burbs but wouldn't be surprised to see a 28c around the airport.

It has come to my attention that the "thunderstorm" word has been mentioned in the Sunday forecast. It won't happen with the SE winds, crap shear and upper temps that are only just cool enough for any instability, but interesting that BoM are bold enough to put that in the forecast. Or there's something that I'm really missing.

Btw, we could've had a shot at our first sub 10C min tonight after the easterly winds and clear skies. But, we really need a drier airmass for that to happen.

Just had a very heavy shower here. Localised according to the radar but pretty heavy.

Nights noticeably cooler now, even if it still says 14C, getting cooler earlier and for most of the night. (unlike the hot spell).
Better sleeping weather from here, and Daylight Savings gone to boot. (revolting for Shift workers).

Just had a moderate shower, much to my surprise. So I checked the radar and there appears to be a few more coming.

Same for us here in the Hunter. I think from memory the word thunderstorm was in the forecast for four straight days about a week ago!!, Guess how many storms we got, yep none!!
But we all know what April can be like with thunderstorms!!

Good drop of rain in the last 24 hours or so, 32.5mm has fallen so far.

We haven't had a storm for over 2 months here, getting very desperate now.
But you're right, April can be very unpredictable with bath warm SST's and upper cold pools. In fact today marks 17 years since the Sydney hailstorm. But I can't see much unpredictability with this month; it's all very predictable.

Yes indeed!
Looks like there is something interesting developing on Access for next Thu/Fri/Sat, with an upper low and half decent rain event for inland NSW, before developing into an ECL on the last run which is Saturday night. Anything of the sort on extended GFS Dave? Such as the low deepening after Saturday?

No mate, GFS not keen on the ECL at all at this stage. It whacks a huge high there.

It plays with the beginnings of a trough but closes it off before it hits the coast.

Still time to see which way the models jump over the coming days. smile

Long term GFS keeps a big slow high in play until just the last day or two of April when some sort of a change looks possible.

But it's all a long way down the track and anything in the models may be 100% wrong out there smile

Thanks, it will be interesting to see how it pans out. The rain event this weekend has somewhat fizzed from a few days ago, so would be good if next weekend can deliver. Rain needs to happen now for the inland before the frosts come.

Yes, no grass growth once we have a couple of frosts.

Mostly cloudy today, except it's high cloud this time.
Interesting to note that David Brown seems to be confident of showers and storms for Sunday, so hmmm.

24C here so far. Hopefully we can keep going and reach the average summer maximum. That'd be nice.

Not surprising Homer, but it's okay because I didn't have my hopes up anyway. I reckon there has been such a lack storms and interesting weather because the upper temps have been consistently too warm to trigger anything! The heat in NW WA could be to blame.
But hey, there's storms in the forecast for tomorrow. Do I have my hopes up? Certainly not

Pretty warmish today, felt a bit warmer than 25C. Quite a nice day with a breeze NEer in the afternoon. Early summer's day.
