Reilly, I sure am and I'm loving it. I paint and draw every day. There isn't a day when I don't. Something must be working, it could be I'm enjoying applied colour theory and the techniques of painting.

Today the ACT Ranges looked wild. The cold doesn't normally make me feel too uncomfortable outside, no matter how cold it gets ... but this morning, holding my tripod was painful. The App Temp at 9.00am on Mt Ginini was supposedly -3.8C, but it felt far colder below in the valley.

Early morning. 1st August. Tidbinbilla Peak is trying to poke its dark summit through the cloud, ACT.

Warren.

Dave, thank you Mate. I haven't forgotten your beautiful Mt Jagungal image.

The prevailing N'Westerly and pencil pines, the National Arboretun, ACT, on the 11th May. If I remember correctly, at noon when I took this shot, the App Temp was only -3.6C and the gust were coming through at 25kts.

Friday 5th August was a stunning Winter's day in Tuggeranong. Despite what the BOM recorded then, for Tuggeranong, the wind at 10.00am was actually a gentle SS'Easterly and it was warm and far from the BOM's data. I doubt that the land effect where I was changed the wind direction a full 180 to what the BOM recorded then. Maybe the BOM was modelling then ... and not recording.

A Native Black Pine and a stunning day. Red Rocks Gorge above the Murrumbidgee River, ACT.

Warren.

The pines in the first photo certainly show the wind direction. Not the apparent temp though. smile

Do you shoot Nikon? The colours look "Nikonish" to my sad ole eye. smile

Maybe start one?

I missed the best part of the sunset, but well after sundown there was still plenty of colour left. Iso 100, F22, 58seconds

Off shore storm just south of Nelson Bay, if you look close enough, just left of the tower on Mt GanGan you can see the trail of plane flying into Williamtown, it would have been spectacular view being in that plane!!

Hey Wassa and Eddy thanks for sharing your wonderful array of pics. Certainly something in them for everyone. If I had to choose a favourite from each of you I'd take Wassa's beautiful 'snow bow' shot. Awesome colours. Eddy I like your beautiful crisp milky way pic. I've on occasion tried my luck with meteor showers only to be disappointed with the no show. At least you have a nice consolation shot.

I've been pretty quiet on the forums of late as my health has slipped a little including a crook ankle which doesn't want to heal and has really slowed me up. Below are a few shots of a storm which came through here last week. Just made it in the winter season. smile

Yeah nice one Eddy. One of my favourite subjects is the full moon. It can often look surreal as it rises or sinks on the horizon. Much easier to catch it as it sets so that you can see exactly where it will position before it disappears. I also like to use my zoom lens for full effect.
Thanks for the comments people. Heres a picture from this mornings frosty foggy start to the day in the local Booyoolee Flats.

Eddy and Skysthelimit, as always, fabulous images fellas. The seascape with the moon ... and the cloud above the Canola field(?)are images as dynamic and striking as one could wish to see and photograph. Congratulations for both top shots.

One day when the technology enables us to smell the photographs that you blokes post, I'm going to return here and breath-in deeply the landscape immediately above this post.

Skysthelimit, I hope your ankle injury improves rapidly, with the looming warm weather. Cheers Mate and my best wishes.

Warren.

I've had to let imgur resize these images for online but hopefully they aint too bad. Been quite an incredible month for weather through central South Australia, my camera has been having a field day.

I absolutely love this image, evokes feelings of cold and eeriness that awesomely chaotic sky.
