We hit a relatively mild 16.9C yesterday arvo here in Belgrave! smile

The Sun was splendid, but kept getting interrupted by increasingly cloudy periods from around mid-afternoon onwards, with the odd light shower about too. It was kinda breezy at times, although the wind didn't feel too harsh except when it clouded over. smile

Still, after 1.5-2 weeks of highs below 15C, yesterday's weather was fantastic! And even though we haven't even hit July just yet, the first tell-tale signs of the coming spring are already beginning to show, with some beautiful flowers appearing. Also, still a little bit of very, VERY late-coming autumn foliage around, but most of it is patchy and dull; the best colours have long gone. smile

Had some more showers come through Melbourne this evening. No measureable rain unfortunately. frown

Currently a rather gusty 11C. smile

Reached a mild, mostly sunny high of 17.2C here in Belgrave today. Northerly winds have been freshening throughout the arvo, and we're seeing increasing high cloud from the west/northwest. Made for a lovely sunset! smile

Currently around 10C.

June Rainfall - 88.5mm @ home, June BOM average is 54.8mm.

388.5mm this calendar year, average BOM annual r/fall since 2010 is 575.3mm. (We've had about 2/3rds of our rainfall in 1/2 the year)

Doing quite well, but couldn't call it a good rainfall year having had to many dry patches at the wrong time.

Have to take it as you get it though, setting us up for a good Spring ! smile

Hey guys. I'm in Pittsburgh for another two days before I head back home for Melbourne. The weather hasn't been as warm as I hoped for but it's been around the mid 20s which is still perfectly comfortable t-shirt and shorts weather. I don't plan on looking forward to the cold when I come back home. Brrrr.

Overnight low of 8.7C, it was around 9C at 7:30am when I left home for work. No rain, and no beautiful sunrise either, just a dull overcast morning and still mostly cloudy with light winds. Looking forward to the milder, sunnier weekend ahead! smile

Reached a mostly cloudy top of 13.6C here in Belgrave yesterday. Chilly, hardly any sunshine, and no rainfall. But thankfully very little wind. smile

Looking north and northeast from my workplace in Boronia yesterday, the cloud base was low enough to cloak the tops of the Yarra Ranges and the highest peaks of the Toolangi State Forest, but not the Kinglake National Park (and certainly not the Dandenong Ranges).

It remained cloudy all evening too while I was in Langwarrin and Frankston. And while it was noticeably chilly, the cloudcover and maritime air coming off Port Phillip Bay kept the temperature around a reasonable 11-13C. No strong wind to worry about either! smile

As for today...

Overnight low of 7.8C, at the last check it was around 11C and mostly sunny with light winds. Strong high pressure reading of 1032hPa. smile

Reached a beautiful high of 17.8C here in Belgrave today! The morning clouds gradually burned off, and by lunchtime they were gone, leaving a borderline mild, sunny afternoon (it got very cold quite quickly after sunset). smile

The lack of wind (and accompanying chill) would've been more welcome if it weren't for all the smoke and pollution in the air, which really spoilt the view and irritated my sinus! frown

Still, it was a lovely afternoon and evening spent with my fiancee, touring Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, the Dandenong Ranges, and Yarra Valley. Quite a gorgeous sunset over Healesville, although lots of smoke plumes here and there (especially away north in the Upper Yea River Valley behind the Kinglake/Toolangi Ranges), and a strong, albeit shallow inversion forming just outside town near the Yarra River. Foggy and smokey on the way home around 9pm.

Kinda reminds me of weather in late-autumn, even though we are finally half-way through winter, and the march to springtime now begins! grin

At the last check it was around 4C.

Sale -2.1C, good frost there I'm sure.

Nice pick Samboz, frost here too this morning, calm sunny day 15.4, put to good use installing 120M of new grass into RMGC, wearing the T shirt for most of it.

....but back to frost tonight no doubt.

Great shot Samboz! The sunset was even more spectacular over Melbourne this evening. smile

And what a great day it's been overall, with a top of 19.2C here in Belgrave. It stayed sunny until mid-afternoon, before a thickening veil of high cloud swept down from the northwest (hence the stunning sunset I mentioned, with the sky lit with fire); note the cold front responsible currently approaching on satellite. A perfect day for being down in the southeast 'burbs of Endeavour Hills, Dandenong, Hallam, and Narre Warren! smile

Northerlies freshened during the day, and although it stayed delightfully mild while the sun was out, once the cloud arrived the wind felt quite cold! A fair bit of dust and litter was kicked up at a lookout in Endeavour Hills at sunset btw. eek

Currently a rather gusty 14C.
