And your point is?
So on that principle every player playing for every sport in this country should be indigenous?
Glad to see someone with such an interest in the game is going to such lengths to undermine it confused

AFL is undermining itself mate. Get your head out of the sand.
Nissan pulling it's sponsorship from the AFL footy show and Holden threatening to do likewise after once again Eddie McGuire puts his foot in his mouth for the umpteenth time.
And, your very successful 3rd placed GWS cannot even half fill a stadium and there'd be more Collingwood fans there than GWS.
Sydney's west do not care about them. It's plain and simple.
The AFL would have been far wiser to set them up in Tasmania where real AFL fans are, but this did not suit their media deal.

Oh no, Nissan, ( bits are missin) and Holden, who are leaving the country threatening to leave the most popular ( and hated) football club in Australia. Well they haven't and are not going to so try again if that's the best you can do as they would be cutting their own throat.
GWS got 13526 at the game today. That's more than any NRL game this weekend and with the four games so far attracting 94373 fans which had 5 teams not even in the race for the eight I don't think the AFL are too concerned.
You cant admit it can you. Its Australias most popular sport and it really frustrates you.
Suck it up buttercup ..

Wrong.
Clearly yes, the AFL is far and away Australia's most attended sport. Maybe not Australia's most favourite though.
It's the culture I despise. And the lies and the media cover up's and the racism and the misogyny and the Melbourne Boys Club and the arrogance and the drug taking and the tanking by some clubs for draft picks that just gets brushed aside.
All so the game can stay relevant.
Every time I see an AFL sign go up around my area it gets knifed.
Western Sydney does not want them. Pure and simple.
And yes, 13000 today eh? For a team that was coming third.
As I said, there were more Collingwood fans there today than GWS fans.
There was a media release a couple of months ago that announced playing numbers for local AFL clubs in western Sydney were up by 40% in western Sydney since the inception of the Giants. Sounds great eh? Yet, the figures were not given.
A quick look on the relevant website confirmed that numbers went up from 1300 to near 1900. Lol. Yep a 40% increase, but still a laughable amount. 600 in a population of over 2 million.
A team that has been given every possible hand up it could get. How many first choice draft picks have they been given over other AFL clubs that were probably just as needy? What about the fixed draws in their first few seasons, ensuring that they played the weaker teams twice? What do the struggling Melbourne teams get from this? Nothing.
You didn't address my point that this team would have been better situated, and would have addressed an AFL heartland better if it had been established in Tasmania.
Don't also forget, they begged the State and local govt's millions of dollars for a training centre in Blacktown - in the heart of Sydney's west. And got it.
What did they do next? Abandon that and move to Sydney Olympic Park where they got further govt funding to build a NEW training centre. Yep, that's the way to endear yourselves to the local community of which you are trying to engage.
They are a joke and nobody wants them.
There's only so long the AFL will give them a hand up of $20 million a year to succeed. I feel sorry for the St Kilda's, Melbourne's, Western Bulldogs and other original clubs who are sadly, just sitting by watching all this happen to the detriment of their own clubs.
The AFL could be even stronger if they weren't so arrogant and greedy.
Go the Swans!!!

Then they got the 50 million upgrade for Spotless.

gee a rant about China being involved in Australian sport to a hatred of GWS, I am getting more confused with each post!

most Aussie Rules fans would have loved to have seen a Tasmanian team in the AFL over Western Sydney, but anyone can also see how important that market is to growing sport.

watching tonights AFL, Western Bulldogs were given a 50m penalty against a Richmond player encroaching into the 10m protected area after a free kick. a few weeks ago Duopolo from Hawthorn stole the ball off an Essendon player from behind who had just received a free kick and was just about to play on, he turned a 180 and kicked a goal from it as it occurred about 40m out from Hawks goal. so my immediate thought was, why was he allowed to steal the ball off a player before 'play on' had been called, and second why was Duopolo not penalized for being in that 10m zone. this was ignored by the umpires and made me irate at the time.

Ahh I seriously thought that the term "village idiot" was a bit of a joke.. No. Homer takes the cake. If there was a clown with a bigger chip on his shoulder than this peanut I am yet to bear witness to it. You are a disgrace to anyone with an interest different to you. You have an opinion that no one shall differ than your one sided biased pathetic views and you have to keep clinging to GWS to back your figures. Here is a word of advice. Crawl back in your hole, ask someone if they would like to hear from someone with an IQ of a squashed cabbage and try again.
Talk about keyboard warriors, didn't your mum tell you not to say anything if it wasn't nice?

bombers finally put 4 quarters together, hitting the lead late in the 4th but sadly we still went down. too many missed shots at goal cost us the game. but with only 9 players with 50 games experience I am happy the boys put a full game together.

Geelong too strong for the luckless Doggies and had 2 milestone players Corey Enright broke the club record with 326 games and celebrating his 300 game was Jimmy Bartel.

Tigers got a thrashing from the Giants who slip back into second place and look good for the finals if not the flag..

Poor buggers, LOL Although I thought they limited the damage as to what it could have been but that was by playing some pretty boring defensive footy...Esp after being down by 50 at qtr time smile
Port had a pretty good win and their makeshift ruckman Trengove had a record 21 clearances shocked ... maybe the days of the really tall ruckman are gone ?

Congratulations to Brent Harvey on his amazing achievement of breaking the AFL games played record with 427 and still going strong.
Amazing effort especially the way the game is played these days and his resilience to injuries for so long.

Majak daw is only 195cm but has an amazing leap in his repertoire and makes a good spare ruckman .He can also take those amazing overhead marks especially the one from last week which I rank amongst the best mark I've ever seen..
