The further south you went the less there was. Some neighbours a few km away only got 70mm. But a few km to the north and others were over 100mm.

I remember a few years back areas around Marlborough were missing out on every fall of rain there was for a year. It is odd how it happens like that.

We often miss the rain. I keep blaming the big hill over the road and suggesting to hubby to bring home a dozer to fix the issue.

It has been odd here. We keep getting bits of rain. None shows on the radar but it rains. Rained yesterday. Rained last night.

I am not complaining. With the milder weather and a bit of rain I might actually get some grass growing instead of just being green.

Poor buggers. Only 70mm in Rockhampton in the middle of winter.

Mock all you like Coldfront, but we here are still under 50% of our annual rainfall. Up to about 300mm now, on top of a third failed spring/early summer.

I did not see you mocking the Townsvillians earlier in the year.

Doesn't feel like winter. Parents had to turn on the ceiling fan in the front room a couple of times.

I fail to see what Townsville has to do with the Central Qld thread. I also failed to see that "earlier this year" was in the middle of winter which was at the core of your whinge.

70mm in the Rocky region in the middle of winter is great rainfall and yet you were whinging about it. It defies reason. Especially considering the monthly median rainfall is less than 14mm for Rockhampton. You were blessed but didn't even notice. Too busy complaining I guess.

Is it normal for Yeppoon to get a few really humid days in winter ?

I thought it was meant to be consistently low humidity on the coast in winter . It's really humid today almost like summer with quite a high dew point .

Seems unseasonal ?

Showers now and yet the forecast says

Near zero chance of rain. The radar has rain inland near Byfield.

Also last night as well 3mm.

Wonder if the nights will go below double figures from now on. Quite warmish sort of at nights.

Close to average though.

Saw a photo on Facebook in Olive Estate I think it was and the sun is shining yet here on the coast it is drab and grey.

Humidity must be up this winter as we got some oranges and in 2 days they were mouldy if not left in the fridge. Lesson learnt. Kept happening every time we bought them .

The Se winds are going to pick up next week. We haven't even had a night below the average of 13 .

Nah their stuff is really good . This is the first time it has happened in the past few years I have been there.

Mould loves humidity and living near the sea is a good way to provide that.

Anyway, Facebook reminds me that a year ago.... (Hey storms in SE Qld ! )

August 13, 2015
Crazy weather. Storms in winter in SE Qld yesterday and snowing in Canberra.
Meanwhile Yeppoon went up to 28 deg yesterday with the warmest winds you can get and today is the coldest driest winds you get here (complete opposite).

So looks like last year it was very warm and dry and the next day we had a SW change.

Similar to the Gold Coast slightly more humid. We have had only a handful of nights below 10 . Last year was different .

Parents think it is cold and have polar fleece at night .

22 day 14 night here. Tasmanian summer ? lol
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/climate/station.jsp?lt=site&lc=33294

Feels like temp during the day with the wind here has been 15/16 deg check out apparent temp here

http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ60801/IDQ60801.94373.shtml

Summer isn't too bad, usually breezy which keeps the humidity feeling bearable but it can get as humid as Darwin or Cairns every now and again in summer

We can have days in winter here of 17 during the day or even 20 during the day and the feels like temp with the wind can make it feel like 12 deg .Even though the actual temp is not 12 deg.

Feels like 2 months of winter this year. This month feels not hot not cold just pleasant.

Think we're in for early heat in CQ unless it rains.

Accuweather has us on 30 deg in September. In Yeppoon.

Nights are sort of warmer already.

GFS already looks like September weather next week.
