1.4mm of rain here over the "23" hours to 9am. Yesterday reached 8C, which occurred just a short time ago.

It's an absolutely gorgeous morning, with full sunshine and a fresh W wind. Expecting a high of 17C. Rain again tomorrow, but looks like pretty warm conditions next weekend.

Beautiful day on the North Shore today. Clear blue sky - it seems to be paler than the deeper blue of recent sunny days. In contrast to the last couple of days, hardly a breath of wind.

I'd actually prefer a bit if wind, just enough to keep the sea gales out. They're just getting going at coastal sites.

Strong sea breezes now, stronger than expected and likely to cap temps unless we get a westerly surge later

No sea breeze here so it is still quite shallow.

I'm expecting the breeze to bulge up and affect me soon but so far a beautiful warm offshore wind.

Beautiful weather continues here - perfect for gardening. Currently 14C, and a moderate NW wind. No cloud on the horizon but satellite shows a change is approaching.

Just hit 26C now and rising, warmest day of the spring season to date.
Looking like we will finally pass 30C by next Saturday.
As it turns out I will be down in Windsor late next week, which has a very similar climate to here, so looking forward to that.
Even better, some very high diurnal ranges of nearly 20C, my favourite type of weather this time of the year. (as well as in autumn)

One of those rare perfect spring days where it's not just warm, but also dry without cloud and a strong seabreeze (so far anyway). Obs hill still forecast to hit 27C but it appears to have maxed out at 24.7C and dropped off to 22.4C now. Not likely to get much higher with the breeze slowly picking up.

There's a very light NE'er here. The car thermometer was showing 26 degrees a little while ago.

The seabreeze is well established at OH and the coast. OH won't be getting to 27 today. Still, the 24.7 is the 'hottest' there since August 10.

EDIT: I'll put away the heater today. I haven't needed it for weeks but have turned it on a few times because it was there - an indulgence. But I just got my Winter power bill.

Perfect weather here today, with light W to SW winds here until about 2pm before turning easterly. Very windy along the coast and quite cool and the wind is pretty light here. Temp hit a top of 25.3C at Albion Park which is the first 25C + day since July 22nd when it hit 26.0C.

It's another warm NRL grand final day but not nearly as warm as last year's grand final where it hit about 34C from memory here. I remember because I was at a mate's house in the pool all arvo before it started... But today's 25C (and up to 28 in Sydney's west) is quite anomalous compared to the last few months. It really does show how much the early spring temperatures are lagging this year; in early October last year 30C was common but then it didn't pass 30 for the whole month after the 6th.

Grand final day is usually warm (missed it last year as I was on Bintan Island, Indonesia) - and this year is no exception. A cold southerly change is always on the horizon in early Oct, but looks like that will be short lasting later this week!

Surprised that it only got to 15C here today. Cold, windy and overcast now.

Warm, windy with increasing sunny breaks in Sydney. Peak wind gusts this morning are mostly in the 50s (but 67 kmh as Fort Denison). It's around 23-25 after hovering around 19-20 all night.

Amazing difference to Sydney here, even 120km to the west. 6mm of rain to 9am. Low was 8C, but since 9am it has dropped to 6.5C. Overcast and drizzling as usual.

Even crazier: Walgett 15C,Merimbula 25C. I daresay the difference between the coast and inland will change over the next couple of months (unless the Tasman Sea turns to lava, of course).

Going to be very short lasting indeed. I had a look at GFS this morning and it looks like warm day for Saturday, southerly change for Sunday and then possibly up to 35C for Monday the 10th!

Pretty warm and windy today, and sunny too after a cloudy morning.

We seem to have had a cold front pass through here late this morning. It looks quite impressive on the map, with ominous teeth moving Eastwards from the sub-Antarctic South of Tasmania to outback Qld. It's not a very cold cold front here on the coast. The wind has shifted from a gusty, warm Northerly to a gusty, coolish-feeling Westerly. While it hasn't caused any big drop in temperatures, which has been hovering around 24-25 on the coast since it arrived, it has probably knocked a few degrees of the maximum.

It's now getting quite cloudy. The radar shows some showers moving quickly down the Hawkesbury valley.

Temps haven't dropped, but dewpoints certainly have. Campbelltown down to a desiccating -4.4C, from 11.7 mid morning.

Very, very windy here this afternoon. Some really strong gusts. House creaking type.
Nice temp at around 21 for most of the afternoon, and despite the cloud cover this morning, which cleared and then came back again mid afternoon, it hasn't been a bad day - except for those winds.
It's clear again now. And there's another one of those house shaking gusts.

It was a deceptively warm morning considering there was no sunshine whatsoever. The change came through about 2.30 and the temp has dropped considerably since. The way Homer has described the wind is pretty much similar to here.

Possibly a nice sunset is on the cards as I can see the clearing edge on the western horizon. Now its time to fire up the BBQ and have some recovery beers!!

The temps in the Upper Hunter were actually quite cool this afternoon under that cloud mass. The westerly weather filters into the Hunter a little better because of the gap in the ranges (Cassilis Gap). Sydney, the Illawarra and even the Far South Coast were a lot warmer for longer today.

BBQ season has well and truly arrived; unfortunately, leather-on-willow is still about a month away- the only good thing about the warm season from my point of view smile.
