Believe or not a bushfire on Beecroft Peninsula (Jervis Bay) is leading to evacuation of campers. Can see the smoke on radar.

It hasn't even been that windy there today, but the bush up the mountain near here is actually tinder dry so it must be similar down there.

Tonight could possibly fail to drop below 20C if this strong wind keeps up here. It's stubbornly sitting on 21 and it could actually get warmer throughout the night.

So this morning's minimum was no less than 19.8C, so essentially it only got down to 20C with a brief drop into the teens. I think it should give today's warmth a head start.

There was a big variation in minima in our part of the State.

- Places affected by inversions (e.g Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley) were quite chilly, sub-10 at some locations.

- Stations not subject to investions (coastal headlands, hilltops, OH) were quite warm - nearly 20 in some cases.

The latter includes Mt Boyce, whose 9.7 would be equivalent to about 17 at sea level.

Well Kiama only got down to 21.0C and Port Kembla 21.3C which without checking, were probably the warmest minimums in the state.

About 5 or 6 here this morning and a solid fog (now gone). Heading for low 20's, our run of 20+ temps beginning yesterday with a max of 20 (our first).

RP - yes campers were arriving late last week and plenty came in over the long weekend. By Monday there was already a substantial presence up there and it was very obvious that the town in general has swollen significantly smile

It would certainly be very positive for the town; lots of places would be getting much more business than usual.

Up to 27C now but once again it is quite blustery today so it doesn't feel as warm.

We seem to have flipped into a dry weather pattern, with no significant rain likely until at least the last third of October. Farmers in low lying areas will welcome this change, but I know from the past that it doesnt take long for things to dry out.

Still in Sydney today, where there is a warm and dry westerly. Back home, Meteye forecasts snow for us on Tuesday shocked . Such is the dynamic nature of spring weather.

Farmers in inland Australia rely on regular dry spells to get things done. Things like spraying, mowing, harvesting, sowing, they all need a good spell of dry weather and normally it isn't a problem, wait a couple of weeks and the sun will come out and things dry out. This winter/spring has been pretty unusual, building to a crescendo of sogginess in september. There will be a lot of activity over the next couple of weeks trying to get done all the jobs that should have been done already. In the central tablelands the soil has hardly warmed up at all, things will be off to a very slow start.

It's cracked 30 in a number of places across Sydney, including OH, for the first time this season.

Max about 22 here today. Feels warmer than that. The tin shed office is about 27 inside and no air movement - crazy.

Quite a decent diurnal range at Glen Innes Ap this morning. -1.2C minimum and then a top of 22.7C.

29C here today and it was very windy at times which was a bit unexpected. I was hoping that the wind was going to calm down a little.

Would not be surprised if today's maximum temperature for Bellambi Point will end being that recorded at just past midnight at 23C. Southerly came through Bellambi at 6.30am and it has been falling since.

There's almost nothing worse than an early morning southerly change IMO. Ruins chances of storms in the warmer months and you're left with a cloudy and miserable day. But on the flipside, it can occasionally clear to a sunny afternoon with a NE seabreeze after an early scumtherly change.

Today it's cold and breezy outside with 100% cloud cover but it is unlikely to rain.

Funny ole day today - very mild last night and really warm in the morning - like a summer morning here. A slight change coming through later today will be barely noticeable I suspect.

Some precip showing on Radar, suspect it's more virga than anything substantial at all. We may get a light spit if anything at all.

Strangely enough, Orange is about 1/2 degree warmer than here at the moment. We about 15.8, Orange 16.4.

Looking at temps, wind change seems to be west of Young at the moment, already through Griffith, Yanco etc.

Quite warm here about 26c, watching the change move up the coast, should be here by about midday.

Pity this change didn't arrive later, the sky has got that stormy/instability look about it.
