With the general dry pattern over the next 10-14 days we will see everything go brown pretty quickly. Incredible winds last night, prob strongest I can remember in 3 years in Seaford with violent LLJ smashing in from the N.

TS cool

Doesn't take long to dry things out, this Northerly wind is already stirring up dust to the N and W

Tarcoola had an overnight low of 28.3C

Impressive. Highly doubt it'll reach 34C here today. Only 24C at 11am and the front is not far off.

Surprised it is only 24 there but it should get higher before front goes thru... Only just going thru Barossa here ATM and temp got to 28. Northerlies should bring down some hot air, well into the 30's in the north.

Just drove home today from PORT FAIRY just across the victorian border. Thoughts i'd get an early start driving home around 7:45 am.. but within 15 minutes the wind already had whipped up and before i got to PORTLAND, i was hanging on to my steering wheel nice a tight (with a caravan in tow).
Headwinds and sidewinds were shocking most of the way home up through port macdonnell, beachport, ROBE, Kingston and up the coorong.
One 4wd coming WITH the wind, driving south was pushed onto the dirt and was struggling as well.
I had a few heart pounding moments when the car changed direction by itself with strong gusts.
fuel consumption was attrocious went through 180 litres fuel for 700 km frown
Only one or two branches on the road throughout the south east, so nothing really over the top.
There was one branch around birdwood that was on the road could of caused an issue with innattentive driving.
WATER,,, what can i say,,, just about everywhere that is flat and has no runoff has water pooled everywhere.
All rivers, lakes, pools. ponds, drains ect are full , flowing etc. Even the usually dry lakes have water in them.
And as for Victoria,if we had another system like 1 1/2 weeks ago, there would be some serious major widespread flooding throughout the state.
Main road into Wangaratta had water just over the white line on the side of the road and all it needs is another meter or so higher and WANGARATTA (a city with 18,000 people)
would be sumerged. Saw the local caravan park submerged with water with cabin footings and tents submerged ,, i'm guessing no camping smile.
All calm here now back home with about 2 mm in it for todays effort.
I'ts good to be back,,, what have i missed??? sandbags,, flooding,,,, rain???

Ended up with 35.8C on the PWS and 35.7C at the BOM station. Heated up quick once the cloud cleared and became pretty gusty. Back to winter now. Complete polar opposite to last Oct.
