Went to Quirindi Saturday arvo for a 40 year school reunion. On Sunday off to Narrabri/Wee Waa and back home yesterday.

On the way home we had rain from Narrabri (juuust starting there) and it became good general rain by half way to Coona. The temp when we left Narrabri was about 19, by about 20km out of Narrabri it had dropped to 12 under the rain.

Then at about 30km north of Coona on the Newell, the temp dropped suddenly (under a km) from 12 to 9, it was very dull, very wet and very cool for this time of year. We then had 9 or 10 degrees all the way home. Even towns like Dunedoo (lunch stop) were only 10 degrees. For this time of year THAT is pretty amazing.

Sorry WR was driving yesterday - hope you had a good birthday mate smile

Could be another fairly cool change this weekend as well.

The Wunderground "Best Forecast", also delivered through the default Crapple Wx app, showed a pair of 17C days for the upcoming weekend. We'll see smile. I also happened to glance at Oodnadatta's EC forecast yesterday; it was showing an astonishing 11-12C max on the weekend which would be in record territory if it happens (record is 15C in 1975).

A delightful Tablelands-style summer's day on the coast today- 9C min and heading for a max of 26-27.

Yeah ozthunder, I did notice some cells late yesterday afternoon to my south but was too busy to get a better look. So I discounted it and thought it would just be some rain.

Single digits for that area Dave, wow that's an impressive effort. No need to be sorry mate, I had a great birthday. smile

Once again, Albion Park is a hotspot for temperatures. 26.4 degrees there while Moss Vale is on a cold 15.7C. The nearly 11 degree difference means that it's probably cloudy up there, while it is partly cloudy here. Also the adiabatic warming of the westerly winds would be a factor I'd imagine.

Just 22.5 here WR. Fairly windy, but the warmth hasn't come to fruition. Maybe it'll warm up further this afternoon, as the NW'er becomes a bit more established.
Clear and sunny and feeling mild to warm.

Glad you had a great day mate.

The Newy radar showing some strong echoes coming towards me despite not being a cloud in the sky.

Bom Newcastle forecast for Saturday has gone way up to 15-60mm. Quite a range there. No doubt will come back down tomorrow.

In my younger days, when photography was my thing and I used to take my rolls of 36 photos to the local photo printer, the polarizer was my best friend. It turned good photos into great photos, but alas, they all ended up on a bit of Kodak cardboard.
I spent thousands of $$$ on camera's and lenses, and had some very respectable results. One day, I might learn how to transfer those to something I can post on here. I have amazing postcard pics from Greece, Moscow and other parts of Europe but sadly, these are just in my old photo albums, which is all we had back then.

I could advise nothing better, in this day and age and in the digital technology age to have a polarizer.
Eddy. Just do it!!!

Edit: Looking at your pics, I actually don't think you need it. It actually looks like you are using one already, which is a credit to your photography skills.

Yes, sometimes upping the contrast and colour saturation can mimic it a bit. However only a polarizer will take reflections of water and glass with ease.

Homer, your story sounds like mine to a large extent. I have a very high grade neg/slide scanner but have had it in a box the last few years. One day I will start on my negs again. smile

Little flat bed scanners work well for prints or a good printer scanner. smile

Full sunshine out here today - slight breeze, heading for 16 or 17. Sunshine will make it feel warmer. smile

Mild here but very very dry today. Dew points are well below zero which is making it feel colder than 22C. Unfortunately a weak SE change will spoil the nice weather before long. The change is established along the coast south of here. A quick 0.6mm at Port Perpendicular with the change so there is the chance of a shower this evening.

That breeze out here is quite fresh and makes it cold if out of the sun.

Still lovely in the sun though smile

There were some echoes on the radar that passed over your area before Eddy. I was wondering whether you got any showers? Assuming that you didn't mention it, I'm guessing you didn't.

Currently 21.7 and a very pleasant day.

I hope the models are right for storms here at the end of the week,we could do with a good drop here in the Hunter, just inland from the coast.
