What do you do with all your fruit and veg Greg? Farmers markets? Or is it just for personal use?

And another frost this morning, was 3c at 1.30 so I put the sprinklers on, didn't get below zero here (though it did at the airport and got to -1 at orange). This has been an unusual spring with lots of cold fronts and rain events, lots of light frosts but rarely getting below zero in Bathurst and usually only for a short time. I hope that is the last frost, nothing forecast for the next week.
There was a big plume of mist rising from my new dam near the orchard and vineyard. By this late stage the water has warmed up a fair bit which provides a lot of energy to disrupt the airflow and stop frosts getting too bad. The frosts have been worse in areas of open paddock. I don't think the frost this morning did very much damage, though it sometimes takes a few days to show with apples.

That is pretty cold for the time of year, but yesterday was a cold day and a clear still night. I think it probably only dipped down below zero for a little while, sometimes in spring it gets down to zero around midnight and that is when you get a lot of damage.

Tonight it is forecast to get down to 4 degrees, 6 on the frost potential forecast. To me it feels like there might be a frost, it has been a cool day and looks like a clear still night. I will be up to check in the middle of the night.

Monday the predicted max is 14, so we might get one last frost tuesday morning. I bet someone somewhere gets a bit of frost, hopefully not me.

Could be gi, with forecast mins early next week in the 3-4deg range, although it will be windy. The setup on current charts with the way the low tracks east from Bass St looks eerily similar to the infamous one that smashed the Sydney-Bart race a few years back.

I will make a bold call that our last frost for the season was last Saturday (November 26th). It was -2°C on the roof of my car, with enough hoar frost to 'glue' the thermometer to the roof. The frost covered extensive areas of shorter grass. Fortunately the only casualty was a Japanese maple, which had its newly emerged leaves burnt. The frost on November 1st was much worse, damaging shoots on our walnuts.

Back online now, my phone line fried by lightning. Not all storms are good, 3 weeks to get the damage fixed. I had a run of low temperatures from last friday, 4C minimums for a few nights, but it is too late for frost now, though I have seen light frost in January.

One thing we know is that anything is possible, ie out of season frost. Historical low for Bx Ag Station seems to be 1.8 for January. We all know though that there are locations around here that get colder at times than town of course. Glad you're back on line.

Last night it got below 2 degrees at Orange AP, that counts as a frost for me. Only got down to 5 at my place,4 at Bathurst AP which is fairly cold for december.

Well I was wrong thinking our last frost was Nov 26th, we had another one early Sunday morning (December 18th). Low was 2.5°C with frozen dew on the car roof and patchy light frost over the grass. Luckily it didn't damage my veges, which are on a bit of rising ground.
