Man it is a humid one today. Already 30c with the DP between 22-23c. Another 37c day forecast too so I hope the DP drops of a bit soon otherwise it is going to be horrible.

19% humidity and 40.0°C....again.

Am spring cleaning, but spending half the time flaked out on the couch. Actually that's more like three quarters...

2pm-ush seems to be the hottest part of the day, so things will look up from this point, or do I mean down?

One good thing is that 36° now feels cool.

A Nice outbreak of severe storms throughout the state. Pity we couldn't get just one bloody storm up here!!

You need a well stocked beer fridge cold@28.

My first wet season up here. I feel like a transplanted alien being.from South Australia, who have had more storms than you can poke a stick at whereas here, in the wet tropics, I am using a sprinkler! However, there is a stillness here and thunder to the south west and the lightning tracker says it is not all that far away. Excitement may happen. Just hope it doesn't die.

Welcome, I am from SA too. Moved here 4 1/2 years ago and have only really had one awesome storm in that time lol. Very disappointing on the storm front though I think you may get more down where you are.

If you have not experienced a full wet season your first one is always one to remember. I had never seen so much water in my life. Your first event when you get Adelaide's annual rainfall in about 48 hours is pretty awesome.

Have you got a rain gauge?

Thank you Hickory & Simmo FNQ, I felt as if I may have jinxed the storm by posting. There is a light drizzle now but thats OK. My history is the Mid North of SA and Western Districts of Vic and was a farmer and CFA member, rain is important and summer lightning storms were to be dreaded re fires. A novice certainly but looking forward, I think, to see what happens here in summer. Love your banter and the education. And yes, there is a rain gauge here Simmo - would have been the first item I acquired if not. Considering at farm in Vic we had under half a metre of rain and now to over three metres - it befuddles my mind.

Will be good to get some totals from your location.
You would have seen some amazing storms in the Mid North. The best storms I have seen have been in the Riverland.

Really liking our chance of a decent storm today/tonight/tomorrow lol. Everything is crossed. The air is very heavy out here, not a cloud in the sky so getting some great heat building up. Something has to give.

I went through the best storm outbreak I've witnessed in decades late yesterday HF. Several strikes within 100mtrs of home with two right on our boundary (30 mtrs away) and sending torrential rain sideways . 82mm of rain thrown in for good measure.

The area is a mess with branches and fences down across Moore Park Beach. Council have their work cut out for them that's for sure.

Sooooo jealous CF. I was watching that cell on radar. Mildura got a cracker storm as well; caused some significant damage.

Looks like our best chance of a drop or two will be today or Monday. So dry up here at present. I haven't recorded a single drop since early October.

I am with you Simmo, everything is crossed lol

Yup. Well....

We've had several 40 degree days in a row. Getting to be the norm.
We had an event on at the bottom pub last night. We got a lot of intermittent gusty wind, blowing things off the tables, and grit in our eyes. Checked the radar - surrounded by a wall of rain, but nothing again.

At least it became fractionally cooler. A hot night, even a sheet was too much.

Yeah we got smashed. A memorable evening HF. I've see some awesome storms since I have been down here but last night was on a whole different level.

I have a video also but need to work out how to edit the profanity when I had a strike right behind the house.

The radar is looking good west of Kuranda, but not sure if it will last. Can hear the rumbles, close, but will it make it?
