Well it was warm today but not as warm as i was expecting, overnight low of 5.9 degrees and a max of 28.1 at 5.04 this arvo, getting a bit more gusty out there now, NW at 29 km/h with gusts reaching 56 km/h, still sitting on a balmy 26.6 degrees,

Looking nice and toasty on Monday! smile

Bit warmer down your way today SF! grin

Getting stronger winds out here now with the front crossing, WNW at 44 km/h -gusts 66km/h, still a bit above 22 degrees! smile

Be lucky if we see any rain with this front!

We are 29's & 30's for the next 5 days - yuck. A big difference down there is that your temps fluctuate much more than up here smile Sometimes annoying I know but at least it is more variety smile

Interestingly though, Hobart's hottest ever temp is higher than ours here, 41.8 vs 40.2. Shows what impact those big long NW bands of heat drawn down from Central Oz can do. smile

Enjoy your 21 in Hobart today and a sea breeze later no doubt smile

Hi all

6.5mm till 9am

How's this awesome Spring weather we have been getting glimpses of in the last week or so? Finally getting some work done in the yard. smile

Did return trip to Hobart yesterday. Rather warm day for driving.

Drizzly day so far today. Relatively calm and feeling quite cool.

Yep it's heading towards summer now, models have changed a bit, with more heat about the country.
Here's hoping we get a thunderstorm on Monday!

Plenty of heat to Drive things!

Models have very low RH after the day time on Monday with rh around 4% and very strong winds for about 3-5hrs then rebounding with showers.

But yes loving the sun!

You can keep that weather DM, will be here soon enough...

adhoc meteogram (GFS) from a program I use. Monday 00Z-Tuesday 12Z. CAPE peaks in Hobart around 1pm at nearly 1100, which is not bad for Hobart.

The limiting factor for a really hot day looks to be cloud cover, west coast dotted with heavy showers. Woke at 4:30am to some thunder to our north, had some light rain. Devonport Ap had 10mm. Can never tell when in bed whether the storm is north of us heading west/east, or east of us heading north/south.

Freebie software, select the model run and the region, small download and then right click on the right location to get the meteogram (can modify to get the parameters you like). I save the meteograms out and auto suck the data into excel to produce graphs or do some calcs.

Look for Zygrib - french product I think.

Yes Snowies, cloud cover is keeping temperature down here too. All that lovely colour on radar has managed to evade me so far.

Had heavy thunder rumbling for the last few hours. However only 0.5mm till 9am here. Nearby Mount Read on the other hand recorded 15.2mm in the 4 hours till 9am.

Very gusty NE 20-30kts

Hey SF take cover! Nice big rain storm heading straight for you! grin

Currently: 17.1 degrees, 87% humidity, 1.2mm to 9am, Light WNW smile

It put on a good light show and plenty of deep grumbles, blew a little and is cooler since the storm rolled through. The Storm that went north of Launnie look a ripper. Had 3.5mm today.

I notice too that Hobart has in fact exceeded it's normal average rainfall by about 20mm. Been a while I suspect sonce that's happened in November? smile Nice change from being dry all the time.

Would have been very fresh on higher ground down there yesterday & overnight I imagine.

We missed the rain, but it dropped to 2.5 last night. Some brief storms developed in the SE yesterday afternoon and pushed through the NW (Burnie had 29mm). Otherwise the good falls were all to the east.
