One thing weather has in common with Cricket (and also Baseball, I think): lots of quirky statistics and lots of opportunities for 'records' of various types.

If the seven day forecast is correct, November 2016 is set for a new record at Observatory Hill. It will be the first November there never to have recorded a maximum temperature below 21 (or 70 in the old money).

The current record hottest 'coldest' November maximum at OH is 20.9 set in 2014, while only in one November in 20 does it reach at least 20 every day. This record looks set to be smashed this month if the forecast is correct, with the 'coldest' November 2016 maximum will be 22.7 on the 9th.

I suspect that tomorrow might be cooler than the forecast 24 - with cloudy skies and SE winds? But it will probably be over 21 at 9:00 today and struggle to 21 or 22 tomorrow, with other days warmer, so still a new record of sorts.

There was quite a decent frost here this morning. I measured -2C. Getting very dry too. Up the road they had over 30mm last weekend, but we only got 5mm.

Wow Rob - fair effort for late November.

Yes Precip becoming a bit more of a worry out here now. Of course, probably even worse on much of the coastal strip.

I can't see any useful rain on the horizon either.

Yeah DaveM, I can't see it either even though the forecast for the next week seems to show some kind of precipitation from a shower or a storm.

If anything does happen I'd say it'll be very hit and miss.

The BOM precip forecasts tell the story.
I'm watering my vegie patch daily.

I washed the car today mainly so I could spray myself with cool water... And what did my neighbor decide to do?

That's right he mowed his lawn and blew all the grass into my car.

Today was a nice 32 degree day, it wasn't humid at all and the wind was nice and cool, the ground was searing hot though.

lol Warren. Damn the neighbours and their lawn mowers!!!!!

I found today rather muggy and hot. I spent a lot of it at a factory type Indoor sports centre with the kids, a place that had no air flow, so maybe that played a part.
It's a rather pleasant 20.2 deg's here now. All the windows and doors are open to cool the house down, then during the day, I'll shut them up to keep the house cooler and reduce the air-con use.
It seems to work well.

Even though every day next week has precip forecast, the totals are rather small. I'm not really expecting much.

Just had a reasonably heavy shower here.
Quite a surprise. It only lasted approx 2 minutes but it was enough to raise my interest. I was sitting here working.

I just had a heavy shower, followed by sunshine now. The radar shows a few shower cells about.

The last para in my previous post is incorrect. The 9:00 reset yesterday morning won't affect today's maximum.

It's mostly overcast over Sydney. It's been stuck on around 20 degrees since midnight.

Well here in Wollongong it has been 100% cloudy all day with a shower at about 10am.

It's also dark and cold at only 18C which is just nuts for late November. Did not expect such a cold day today.

Albion Park sitting in a drizzle hot spot ATM. Up to 2mm of drizzle. Closer to coast and it has been "trying" all day, finally started to wet things.

No rain today here at Olympic Park today. Could see light drizzly stuff falling on the coast though during the arvo.

Cool enough for you Trav? Were you there on Friday night? I was at Olympic Park for the Wanderers vs Brisbane game.
No drizzle here yet, though sky is overcast and it's a coolish 20.6 deg's atm.
Earlier, it felt quite cold when the wind was blowing quite gustily but it is calm now and doesn't feel quite as chilly.

Meanwhile, http://www.seejh.com/live
Nice little snow fall happening. I know it's off topic but it's fascinating for a weather nerd like me.

We have completely shifted to a (relatively) hot & dry mode for weeks now. Summer underway out here.

Watering my yard despite 4 of the wettest months for yonks just recently.

Same situation here Dave. Our pasture is still green, but it wont be long before it hays off. Rain prognosis for the next 8 days on WATL isnt looking great either. Add to that an 850mb temperature of 25C this Friday it will be getting very warm.

We were facing another frost on Saturday night got down to 2C. But then a mild, moist wind blew in from the NE resulting in a dense mist on Sunday morning. The mist soon burnt off to a mostly sunny day with a high of 21C felt much warmer though in the high altitude sun. I saw a copperhead sunning himself right near a shingleback doing the same on a nearby gravel road.

Just went to the shops and some decent towers are clearly visible to the west.
A little cell has also just popped up on the radar.

Partly cloudy and seabreezy here after a warm, humid night. It's about 25-26.

A small cell has just popped up East of Blackheath and Katoomba. It looks pretty lightning-active. It doesn't seem to be moving much, maybe slowly E-SE'wards.

Pseudo towers out this way - enough to make me wonder & ponder BUT not sure there is enough substance in them as yet.
