Post your Summer pics in here.

Beautiful summer's day in Port Stephens. Water clarity is unbelievably clear.

Wow thats impressive Eddy.
I've had no luck whatsoever with my camera of late. I've been on a few chases with no reward. Beginning to feel like I've lost my touch. We have a big week coming up in SA with a Christmas heat wave followed by a rain deluge. Maybe I'll come up with something from that.
Happy Christmas to all the weather nerds out there! smile

Thanks Skysthelimit, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!! To be honest its been quiet in this neck of the woods too. All the action has been in the NE corner of NSW and SE QLD.

And good luck with the upcoming event!!

I forgot to mentioned that I had no shutter release cable either, that is why I was pretty happy with how the photo turned out!!

I was surrounded by storms a couple of days ago and this particular one just north of me was quite lightning active. By the looks it dropped quit a bit of rain in places. With the grain harvest in full swing thats something we don't need. Speaking of which we are still likely to get wet after Christmas. Not the deluge initially forecasted but rain nonetheless frown

That last pic... Looks like a storm I saw the other day, the core was pitch black, I reckon the people under it were thinking it was night time!

Only just worked out how to stitch images, and holding the camera vertically is the best way to take panos?

This photo is 4 images held horizontally which could be the reason why I ended up cutting abit off the top while editing. Anyway this shot is from Acacia Ridge roughly 400m east of Archerfield AP QLD in the afternoon around 3pm.

After a downpour in Blackheath I spotted this photogenic leaf and couldn't help but to snap a picture on it on my crappy phone camera!

Except for the purring of the air conditioners.

I think so. Although, last evening about 15 minutes after sundown (on Jan 25th), above the Yass Valley, when it looked like a storm was forming, the sky put on a performance the likes of which doesn't happen often.

This incredible sky lasted all of about 90 seconds ... then the colour was completely gone ... and it was too hot to rain for longer than a minute.

Given the discussion about the lack of posts, thought I'd chuck up some randoms...this is the first year where I have chased so much I have a fairly large backlog of images going back months, that I only occasionally get around to looking at. I'll chuck some up and pretty up this thread. It's been about as good of a storm season in the Mid North of South Australia that you could ever hope for.

Many of these images haven't even been uploaded before lol. Imgur kinda ruins the image quality in many though frown

BTW love those shots STL. I was to the far west of those cells as they developed, and was almost lured east by them, but dropped south when the southern storms bowed out. Glad someone was out to appreciate them!

And once again Wild Wassa love your stuff, you have an incredible eye for seeing the details in our natural world, I think abstract photography is the word I'm looking for. Do you have a site or something where you store them all, that is possible to browse through?

Thanks for sharing Markus. You do well to capture events the way you do. My favourite amongst some awesome shots is the hay bales beneath the stormy sky. Yeah I headed north as I could see some big cells exploding in the clear air. I just wish I'd gotten there in time to capture them frown

Marcus, G'day and thank you for your kind words.

Your location spotting is brilliant. Great vision and shots. Your photography is exceptional. If you don't mind me saying, you have masterful quality and your images are exciting to see. The greatest gift a photographer can have is the ability to allow the imagination of others to enter their shots. I thought that I could hear my hair crackling and smell burning, when I looked at your 4th image.

Skysthelimit, you're as equally guilty. You and Marcus are hogging the best of the weather obviously ... no wonder nothing special arrives where I am after it has been past you two. Primitive people when they first encountered photography were apprehensive to be photographed and claimed that the evil machine stole their souls. Well, I'm starting to agree with them. By the time the weather arrives from the West past you two, it is rendered benign. I specialize in photographing flat grey days.

I'm still plodding along with photographing that easiest feature of weather to capture ... visibility.

Heat ... Smoke ... and the Forest Ranges. ACT.

Warren.

PS, Marcus, you asked me about my photography. I've two sites, Photobucket and DeviantArt.
