I blame your models for us being the new Dry Tropics, Ron....

Currently planning a cactus garden..just have to fence it off to stop the wild camels from trampling it..

I guess more camps on the tableland than on the coast?

Interesting witt88, are they on the banks of the Barron? My Pop was stationed there before they shipped out I believe.

Look at all these juicy showers popping up, bloody models being correct again lol 😀

Plenty of cells popping up on radar. Looks like you may have got a spit or two at G'Vale RF. You might keep your rain total nose out in front this month mate. I might have to fill the gauge up with the hose!!

Looks like that low is trying to spin up in the CS EARTH MAP

Just got home, another 5mm or so. Pretty muggy for a while there but breeze is coming back now. BoM pegging Cooktown to get a few mm's, that earthwind showing bit of convergence on the surface just north of there.

Be amazing and well done for BOM if we on the coast got the predicted falls, the winds and movements seem all over the place. Certainly good that the other side of the ridge is getting falls and funny that they peter out coming down from the heights to the coast.

7mm to 6am this morning. Really steamy day and dizzy making out in the sun trying to clear away prunings. I retreated into the house.

Cracker storm Scott, it looked impressive on radar.

Bom has that low forming to our north then moving SW towards the coast dragging the MT down with it. This would be ideal rain wise. Might not need that hose, Scott; better keep it within reach just in case.... wink

The cynic on me laughs mockingly at this - I am just so doubtful of any decent rain till February. Just like previous years.

Hate to tell you this DU, but today I put in some new drainage in the back yard to take away excess water in a big rain. This means it will not rain now 😫.... for ages lol.

Making a concerted effort to use the computer instead of the phone, so I can use photobucket.

In the midst of a wonderful looking big blob, satellite has stopped, there is no rain, barely a sprinkle, and 3G which was abyssmal has now become unusable in the last year with an extra 163 people in town. I am typing away, filling in time while I wait for two images to upload to photobucket.

...Okay, finally the blob, which is now almost past

Bit of ant activity I haven't seen before, not this many, nor so close together. This pic shows a few, but there was another spot where there was more than this.

I did say "no rain", but there was a whole 1.5mm in the mini Nylex this morning.

BOM 8 day rain dropped right back. Guess when the models say the rain is coming... in 10 days. crazy

Beautiful blue sunny skies this morning. WTF! I have been trying to stay positive but i think i am going to have to accept that this monsoon is going to pass us by. So i am going to fill the pool, water the garden and lawn and plan to do some roofing work on sunday. wink
