Yeah, but this part is near the river mouth which is nearly five kms from the heads!!

Well it didn't take long to have the first southerly of summer, for here 49 hours.

In the end it wasn't that bad today, deceptively warm when the sun was out.

Nice, I've been hanging to get up there for so long. Was going to organise a schoolies trip up there but the grandparents didn't like that idea. Should get up there this Christmas though. smile

We had a cloudy and cool morning but yes, the afternoon was quite warm and even sunny here.

I like your tally on your sig as well, but I bet the scumtherlies will win ten-fold. poke

Ten-fold you reckon, might open a book on it and start taking bets?? I reckon it will be closer to 15 to 1.

Hehehe, alright I'll bet $5 on the 10 to 1 odds. poke

But seriously I really hope we're wrong, would be great if the storm total surpassed the southerly total!!

Have a great trip wavey, i like your choice of close mates and a different location, for our schoolies me and 12 class mates hired a mini bus and travelled around australia for a month, gold coast and bali seem like such a boring way to end school life with the mates youve made!, Ive been living my storm dreams through my best mate who lives in brisbane over the last few weeks, especially last few days, ill be driving to work tomorrow at 4am with a little optimistic feeling in my bones about the days potential, if not just for a nice thundery soaking at some stage. As for starting a book Eddy, how about who reaches 5000 posts first, wave rider or homer, seeing as though wavey is now semi-regular, id say theyre $1.92 equal faves smile

Wave Rider nearly 200 post closer to 5000 than Homer and even though WR has admitted that the next week he will be very quiet on the forums!! I personally think Wave Rider should be outright favourite.
WR - $1.40
Homer - $1.60
EddyG - $2000
Quagmelson - $5000

Headed South today to visit some old friends. Setting off from Artarmon mid morning to a rural locality called Tapitalee near Nowra.

Early cloud soon burnt off to a perfect Summer say, blue skies, light breezes and very hazy. After coming off the escarpment, the temperature on the car thermometer didn't change much, staying at 27-28. The Illawarra countryside after Wollongong was beautiful as always, very lush and green even though parts of Sydney are starting to look a bit dry.

Some high cloud rolled in. Even though I don't think it got past the high 20s, it felt hot and humid on the deck for lunch, like February.

I think I will definitely be first to 5000 posts because I'm a such WZ addict!! And to think that at one stage I had less posts than everyone.. poke

Cheers quag, wow that would've been awesome to travel around Aus for a month. I'd do anything to have friends that would be interested in that.

Steve we probably drove past you as we were heading south past Nowra but I will never know. The traffic did look pretty busy northbound so I hope you had an okay run home.

Heading for 37C today, already 21.1C at 0550, has not dropped below 20C tonight - probably only the 2nd such night this season. (would need to check the stats).
Certainly making up for a cold 1st half of spring now.

Winds around Sydney and the Central Coast look pretty flukey at the moment, S-SE'ers right on the coast and all over the place inland. The Illawarra and South Coast have Northerlies so it might be just something local, a small low off the coast.

I've had a few light showers with solid overcast, but the cloud now seems to be breaking up. What wind there is seems to be a light Easterly.

WR - traffic wasn't too bad until I got back to Sydney. In fact, compared to Sydney, most other places are pretty good as far as traffic goes. There was a bit of a bottleneck coming into Berry around 12:30. It's a pretty little town which I'll have to get out and look at one day.

There were lots of people about there, with some sort of motor bike thing going on. After Berry, I passed a cavalcade of literally hundreds of motor bikes coming in from the South, many done up for Christmas, with a long line of traffic behind them.

Darwin like conditions around Sydney atm. Low 30's and humidity around 50%. Very sticky and unpleasant.

With Darwin like conditions hope we get some Darwin like storms cool

Warm out west too (DaveM won't be loving it). Some small cells popping up now, moving quickly eastwards.
