Just remember buddy boy, I'm allowed my point of you so in future if you wish to shoot me down in flames do it by PM.

Seriously moderators, are you going to delete his tripe?

200 mm...you'll need kayaks for that I think!! Whoever gets the core of this system needs to batten down the hatches, seriously! I'm 80% confident of that much.

50mm I'd be happy with, be a good refresher and tank topper, also would take me to 900 for the year, which is astonishing.

OCF modeling for ELIZABETH.
Sunday 1.8 mm
Monday 20 mm.... yeah a bit wet!
Tuesday 31 mm.... look out,,, it's still raining?? might consider sandbags!
Wednesday 25 mm ....... and unhook the ARK,,, were going floatin!!!

I have to admit you don't see these high numbers in consecutive days forecasted very often, if rarely.

Maybe before the rain band. The atmosphere will be too moist & warm to produce much in the way of storms otherwise. Might be lucky for a bit of embedded thunder but that's it.
Our best chance of a storm is actually probably Friday night (2 days away). Slight chance in the evening again on Xmas Day, and then on Monday before the band of rain hits...

hi Je, sorry i missed your personal attack, it seems you
have yet to master the art of discussion on this forum
(lesson 1).....
---------------------------------------------------
QUOTE:-(in one post)
.....Excellent write up Thunda.....
(in another post)
.....Seriously moderators, are you going to
delete his tripe?.....
---------------------------------------------------
....and the art of consistency as well(lesson 2)
---------------------------------------------------

QUOTE:-
Settle down coco... lol
I was refering to thundunta's post re warm uppers on
med res via BSCH

---------------------------------------------------
would have been best if you had been less ambiguous in
your initial post to save Tek having to waste time
defending what he said(lesson 3).now that i also know
what your actually on about i can drill down and be more
fundamental. re warm uppers, i cant say too much os i
don't know how much grip you have on basic met., but when you
have gobs of moisture through all levels of the atmosphere
combined with gobs of heat, which was pretty much a foregone
conclusion by yesterday, the middle and upper layers are
going to be warmer than ideal as well which for a parcel
of air is comparative to a bubble of air rising through
water compared to the same bubble trying to rise through honey.
further to this i'll decide wether or not to grab yer by the
scruff of the neck and rub your nose in an "i told you so"
after the event when the time comes.
in reference to your suggestion of Pee-eMing, if a comment is
made publicly that i take exception to i prefer to shirt front
the perpetrator publicly also so everyone else can watch, if
you want to publicly have a go then i have a right of public
reply and i don't need to stoop to degrading personal attacks
in an attempt to stitch someone up, i can quite happily and
easily do it well within the weatherzone forum guidelines and
rules and also believe it or not there are quite a few people
out there who like my posts and the way and what i write.
the next time you want make ambiguous non-specific off
the cuff comments about something i've posted if you don't
want to be publicly shot down in flames follow your own
advice and do it by PM.
on the same token, if you wish to make informed comments or
have legitimate questions on anything i'd be more than happy
to engage in open or closed dialogue with you (or anyone
else for that matter).
jeeze, i'm not that hard to get along with.
enough "tripe" for now.

back to......um......what is this?.....oh yeah that's right,
the weather.
BOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!
the latest model runs have see-saw'd back with a vengance.
i was looking forward to another miserable christmas until
this came along, an ntree of total heat with gobs
of drenching moisture for main course, what an awsome
chrissy present.
whats that i hear you say Eevo,..."bring it on"?....
you betchya booty.
just OT Eevo (not like me), have you been up storm watching
off mt barker?
a little bit peeved with GFS though, got things happening
a bit faster than i'd like, be nice if that moisture could
hang around for a couple of days or so but its looking more
like 24-36 hrs atm and also buggering off earlier too.
bom are forecasting up to 10mm for tues and up to 20mm for
wed atm but i think this is going to be all over the shop.
Tek's the rain amount expert, i prefer to leave it to him
to be wrong on that subject. poke i'll just stick to being
wrong on storm probabilities.
where abouts are you talking about storms fri night?, all i
see is possible mid north and woomera area.
btw tek, you still working at that same place at westfield
as a few years ago?, you can PM me on that one if you want.
gfs is on a 12z run but access is also seems to
be trending the same but not as bad.
in reference to farmers harvesting, my mate up north of bute
is going gangbusters atm and he reckons he won't be finished
till after chrissy, how long after chrissy i don't know but
i hope those 40 temps don't bring things to too much of a
grinding halt. the best part looks to be a rapid clearing
of the system so as not to give fungus on grapes or sprouting
of crops much of a chance.

Cheers Teckert!
Might have to take my camera to work then, pulled the socially unfriendly shifts this year...

Haven't read such an interesting thread here for quite a while now but this is getting up to Whirlpool ITN level. Hey were all here for the excitement that's building for a very exciting week coming up and I'm enjoying the info from those who understand much more than me, what is happening. Keep it coming people even though I can't understand all the lingo but we weather watchers appreciate it.
Merry Christmas to all. smile

hi puddles,
thanks for your comments,

i'll keep that in mind when i get carried away on a rant
and try and explain or elaborate more complex concepts
in an easy to understand manner when time allows.
the unfortunate thing is weather concepts are one of the
most complex things to try and get a grip on. i find it
far easier to explain complex engineering concepts to a
layman than weather, not so much how the weather works
but why the weather works the way it does.
i see your in the same burb as me but it appears your more
of a lurker than a poster. we may get more than 'puddles'
next week too, have a great chrissy and enjoy whats coming up.

That's Ok I manage to work through most of it and getting gradually better at it over the years. TS posts usually leaves my head spinning but I do enjoy what of his i can understand.

I think we may be neighbors actually. Are you that wide eyed dude with the bald head on top and the long red straggly hair down the sides and the back and wearing the the braces to hold up the really baggy pants? If that's you then a merry Christmas to you to but please turn that music down after 1 am.I like the sound of the harp but the constant sound of thunder and rain is driving the dogs mad. Please?? wink

Totally agree puddles. Much prefer Weatherzone to Facebook when it comes to potential events/actual events in SA and the various personalities contributing to a "rousing" discussion. cool

Yeah all good TH, my lesson 1 is don't drink beer, argue with Mrs, then type in forum, not good. All those anger management classes are forgotten till one wakes up and ponders reality, my bad mate very sorry. Love your write ups and while they give me a head ache to read and I want to stab my self repeatedly after I've read them with a blunt stick, I come back for me, sadism? Probably not smile
