Hahaha hickory. smile

Where is our bloody rain. Biboohra and MAP still likely to be the driest year on record unless they get over 32mm and 45mm respectively. With the BOM only forecasting 1-5mm over the next 8 days that will leave only 4 days till the end of the year.
Models are predicting wet weather by around the 29th-30th but last week they were predicting a wet xmas.

Nice to have something to watch over to the west. Our turn can't be far off!!!!

Struggling to focus on christmas cause i'm too focused on camping and what the bloody weather is doing... lol So anyone got any ideas what the weather will likely be doing? or is it too soon to tell?? Any advice appreciated, opinions and comments welcomed smile

I have a feeling that we might get under some NE flow that may be associated with a monsoon trough from around the 30th. Hows that for a stab?
Just go mate, least you shouldn't be cold!

Keeping your nose in front with your rainfall totals RF.. wink

Lets hope the GFS is correct again in the last week of December, early January. GFS has been doing well with the rainfall modelling over the last few weeks.

MAP data is only since 2000, if you look at the data for MAREEBA QWRC it shows 1966 with only 388.8mm.
Tinaroo just above 33%........

Lets hope that prediction comes off MW grin

I don't use the closed stations too compare as you can't compare that location to this year. And because storms are so isolated it makes it hard to compare. Thats why I use the Biboohra station, which is their driest year on record at the moment, they started recording in 1947. Plus that station is closest to my house than Mareeba town ones.
Walkamin currently have their second driest on record. Their driest year since records started in 1965 was 2002.

We also had a short sharp random shower during the night .. heavy enough to black out the Austar signal for a few minutes..

I bet this old Yorkey's knob fella wasn't expecting this when he tried to chill out in his favourite chair in front of the telly... certainly upset his viewing pleasure...!..nice work by the paramedic to get some anti-venom to the scene like that..

Dry season weather today. Felt cool getting out of the pool, not cool enough to go without a brew though.

Just spoke to a mate that said we had a shower here in G'vale last night, checked the gage, 1.6mm.

Here you go MW
http://www.bom.gov.au/jsp/ncc/cdio/weath..._stn_num=031008

Boring weather as usual. I hope the models hold through the weekend and don't push the rain back another week.
I had to erect another fence today to keep the roos/wallabies off the small pasture I water for the goats and cow. They are in plague numbers at the moment and they have been eating the pasture bare every night and leaving nothing for my mob.

Meanwhile in SA it looks they are going to get some tropical heat followed by some heavy falls. Boxing day forecast for 40c with a DP of 24c. That is going to knock them around a bit. Not sure if that has happened there before. I can remember 40c with DP's around 18/19c but not 24c.
