Ahh reminds me of when I was in Singapore, lovely stuff. The only difference is in Singapore it's almost impossible to sleep without aircon as the DP rarely drops below 26C 3rd consecutive very warm night, doesn't happen often.

When will the 'main change" come by Southern Sydney tomorrow in your opinion? I'm not sure that there is a 'main change' as such. I think there's a small low off the coast of Sydney now, which will soon dissipate. After that, early tomorrow morning, a broad trough will move over our part of the world, swinging winds to the SE quarter, but that wil just be hot air sloshing over the Tasman (meteorlogical term) and returning. Depending upon cloud cover, it might be warmer than the 28 forecast. On New Years Day, maybe in the afternoon, things will cool down with showers, then a few days of genuinely cool weather (I don't believe the 25 degree forecast). Anyway, we shall see.

Only 1mm here last night, pretty sticky warm night for us. Now it is 24C and 75% humidity, not something people who live inland in NSW expect very often

Minimum temp 24.6C by the look of it. Now on the rise again. Yes a very Singaporean night Long Road Home, aircon on til midnight, then someone woke up to put it on again before 5am. Having to sleep with aircon is annoying.

Very warm night here also (in comparison to usual), only getting down to 22.4°C. Could not get any lower than that because the dew points was so high, at about 23°C at one point which is just nuts. Still a very humid 26/21 at Albion Park while here it is a slightly cooler 25°C.

The 22.4°C mentioned above is actually the warmest December night on record for Albion Park.
It should still be pretty hot today, going to take a lot to flush out such persistent heat and humidity. As you can see, the southerly has had a very limited impact, except for right on the coast where it is actually rather cool- only 21°C at Bellambi.

Today is even hotter than yesterday in areas that are experiencing the dry NWly. Moss Vale 32°C, Mudgee 35°C and Scone is at 40°C just to mention a few.

You can see the 'fungus' spreading up the coast on the vis sat pic (as kizz would say) Anyone got historical records of the last time Syd got rain on new years day? Expecting up to 25mm, that has to be unheard of. I do know Jan 1st 1947 had a supercell with 8cm+ hail which injured a lot of people on Bondi beach and did a significant amount of damage around the metro. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1947_Sydney_hailstormVery interesting read

Yes some strange weather the last few days.
Min here this morning was 27, now with a SE blowing it is 31.5. Quite warm for that wind direction seeing how its been blowing from that direction almost all day.

Yes some strange weather the last few days.
Min here this morning was 27, now with a SE blowing it is 31.5. Quite warm for that wind direction seeing how its been blowing from that direction almost all day. Yes RS (excuse the use of those obscene initials), it is quite hot here even in a S or SE airflow. Today is decidedly uncomfortable outside. The "southerly" is warm. Humidity high. The stinging sun makes it feel even hotter. On the other hand, the far south coast is enjoying much cooler temps - all in the low 20's with some APP temps in the teens. Possibly that is the influence of that secondary southerly that Steve777 mentioned earlier. Even though a few small cells have popped up on the radar, I can't see much or any action today. The sky is looking very dry. It's currently 29.6 here with a gusty SE'er. I'm inside in the air-con, doing the ironing, while watching a Rick Stein marathon. Quite a pleasant Saturday afternoon indoors.
