Tipped out 60.6mm this morning. Adelaide Airport recorded 50mm.

Wind was pounding the rain against the window for a fair chunk of the night, window faces east.

System total now 6.2 + 60.6 = 66.8mm.

Garden is very happy. Just means now that there is no excuse to pull the weeds up as the ground should be nice and soft.

Certainly nothing to write home about in regards to rainfall here. Just a mere 19.6mm for the whole event.

Winds however, that's a completely different story. Recorded gusts up to 101km/h before the power went out and the wx station said "nup" and stopped recording (battery backup is shot). Pretty sure winds were in excess of the last recording. Lots of damage here... bistro blinds, shade house shade cloth, trees, fences and the tomato plants in my veggie patch. Going to be a little bit of an expensive venture to repair, but not worth claiming on the insurance.

Possible chance of a t'storm later according to the forecast, but quite frankly, it can bugger off elsewhere... I have too much to do.

No power expected here until just before midday and we have no mobile service either. Thankfully we have a couple of gennies for coffee, water and the all important satellite service. wink

A whopping 62.2 mm rain here in Gulfview heights this morning.

Recorded a gust of 66 km/h at 1:09 AM. Barometer dropped to 989 hpa.

However lost power and internet about then too, so don't know the full story until I can download data from station.

Power and internet still off as I type.

well there was something i saw this morning at 8:50 i've
never seen before.
as i pulled out of the driveway and looked across the open
paddock to the west, 23, windy and FOG, thats right,
eF-Oh-Gee...FOG
thought it was an area of drizzle off in the distance
at first, then i looked north and south and saw the same
thing and realized i was in it and had a dry windscreen.
if nothing else about this event that is what i will
remember forever.

i wanna try and bag me a whopper......
murray bridge it is, afternoon cape of 1400 over palmer/mannum
anything that comes down from up north and stumbles into that
is going to go absolutely boonta.
time to git me sheet together.

Wind was just madness ey Helen. Farrell Flat road was just covered in trees, Clare itself though, wow! It's very rare for us to get winds of that strength from the north, there are trees and branches down everywhere.

Bit luckier for rainfall though, 40mm last night on top of 17mm makes it 57mm for the event, 983.4mm YTD...wettest since 1917.

Hopefully some storm chasing can get done today. But i'm guessing most of the action will be at Port Wakefield Today similar to the other night.

34.4mm in Seaford Meadows...normally a good fall but right down the lower end compared to central and especially northern suburbs. Was quite windy at times and the rain lashing/rapidly changing in intensity but the wind certainly not much more than a good gully wind which I'm very used to down in this part of the world.

Driving to work this morning encountered drizzle for the first time in Seaford in summer in my whole time here (3 and a half years). Drizzle is a fairly rare phenomena.

Humid now...arvo stuff will get up well inland mostly, NE Pastoral and probs Riverland...front will take its time before activating showers and isolated thunderstorms late arvo on EP or gulf areas before finally taking off more around Adelaide's longitude around dinner time till late evening. Nothing outstanding but a chance of some better storms.

port wakeield more likley for something to happen but east
of the ranges if it does happen will be bigger and better
in my opinion.
there will be plenty of people to bag whatever comes down
the west side, i'll try and cover the east side,
cameras need to be ready in the riverland too.......

Good luck thundahunta, this will be the first chase day this entire season that I have to sit out frown 22.5 degree dewpoints out there has me worried of what I'll miss. Good luck though mate, if you can get a heavy enough cell should be some meaty gusters around with these incredible dewpoints.

Yea mate, best storms over NE Pastoral but ample CAPE and convergence east of ranges over Riverland especially, decent enough even over ranges/NE Ranges. Then elevated stuff from west later which should strenghten in gulf as it heads east. Will have a better idea after 03z sonde.

Thanks Markus, I'm in the bridge now just a waiting game and
watch the sat.
I decided to take a different route to the freeway than via glen
osmond, went via chandlers hill to stirling, big mistake, firstly
Shrouded in pea soup fog....hot pea soup fog, road blocked to
stirling, fallen pine over powerlines so had to go via upper
sturt, took me an hour and a half to get to the freeway, the
whole place up there has been trashed, tree litter and branches
Everywhere.
Hot and humid, certainly feels like something should go nuts.
Probably just me.

Lucky you. Power not expected to be restored here until after midnight now. frown 37.4C with the humidity slowly but surely dropping, but still sweltering hot and 32.7C inside and 55% RH. Sure makes me appreciate my air conditioner all the more, but the gennies won't run that. frown
So, 4 fans, two fridge/freezers, a couple of laptops, my computer and all its peripherals are running on petrol power. Still no mobile service, either.
