Nothing more than light rain rain here. Not loud enough to hear over the sound of the ceiling fan.

lightning earlier was awesome, tried to get a few snaps but lucked out sadly. still nice to see locally.

shame the good rain missed us. went for a drive around the southern side of oak valley, so much water everywhere from a direct hit at lunch. came across a tree smashed to pieces by lightning.

90mm of rain in three hours from lunch time here at my place. Awesome rain. Still raining steadily now but starting to ease off.

not sure how to take todays event. we could have all ended up with 20-50mm with a bit more luck (story of our lives i know) but having said that we were never meant to get such widespread activity today anyway. either way, whats done is done, running of out of time for storm events this season.

21mm for me at Rasmussen for yesterdays activity. (Including a short but heavy shower around 3.10am) It was short and lots of rumbles but over way too quickly. Total slowly growing but it is too little and naff all added storage in the catchment. Dam has struggled up to 17%

For those playing at home link to Ross River Dam is https://www.townsville.qld.gov.au/water-waste-and-environment/water-supply-and-dams/dam-levels

Burdekin Falls Dam 95.2% full. http://www.sunwater.com.au/home/water-storage-levels/burdekin-falls-dam

Happy New Year everyone!

I've just come back from holiday and found a welcome 113mm in my rain gauge! Pretty awesome. Also had another 35mm so far to date.

Hadn't any grass left last week, but some buffo is coming back now, the couch is trying and the weeds are thriving ... oh well .. hope what's coming in (it's beginning to rain in West End)will reach us and the dam will get a hammering.

We can but hope.

OMG that rain was great. in fact it beat last years recorded total of 64mm in 24 hours by 15mm.
79mm to 7.45 16/1/17. Gob smacked. It was so loud it woke me up a couple of times.

A couple of quick showers last night/early this morning dropped another 3mm in my rain gauge. We mowed, weeded and did a general yard clean up. The grass/weeds are going gang busters and all our larger shrubs have recovered well.
