Well GFS certainly has no faith in this coming rain event by it's latest prediction.

That's amazing Vinnie as heavy falls forecast for tomorrow morning (Yepoon). Wouldn't think it with this weather. Got a feeling it's going to build very rapidly. Just waiting on the BOM forecast.

You'd think this humidity build up is going to lead to something. I think it only rained here a week ago so lawn is green.

Happy New Year to all!
The rain we received Boxing Day has successfully pushed my 2016 total to 1010.6mm! Highest rainfall months being March and July! Gotta be happy with that, even with the last few months being pretty under average for rainfall.

Now, this heat and humidity is a bit wild! The shower that passed this morning made conditions worse going from 32/24 to 30/27 for about quarter hour after the rain passed! 2.3mm there smile
I gotta ask, i'm very curious as to where the starting point will be for this rain as i'm yet to see anywhere on radar that has rain developing ... fingers crossed we get a good start to the year smile
Could anyone elaborate how this rain is going to come into play?

Rhys basically there is an upper low to the west of Rocky that is drawing moist air in from the coral sea that will result in a convergence area on the coast. If you check out the sat loop you can see the rotation from low to the west and how it is drawing the moist air/cloud mass in from coral sea. The showers starting to show to the E/ENE is the start of I think.

Lol where did that forecast come from Vinnie? Pretty bold to forecast those sort of totals and the "low" isn't off the coast it is already inland. That's what is drawing the moisture from the monsoon trough on to the coast. Can already see a rapid area of convergence happening on the 512 radar. Oh and Sattelite images have been down for over 8 hours now????

The low is still just over water but not expected to stay there .Agree on the rainfall totals. What a load of claptrap. Must be a subscription site trying to justify ripping people off with page filler.

Wouldn't surprise me if all the rain is south of us and instead Bundy to Brisbane gets rain and we miss out.

No not a subscription site just a Facebook page.
