Just added up 2016 and it comes to 669, but could be a few millimetres either way since I'm not a purist when it comes to measuring on time.

You smashed me by about 180mm C@28. Things must have greened up out your way now. Still brown as brown can be here though hopefully that will change after this week.

Ended up with 11.2mm. Happy with that and hopefully get a few more days of 10-20mm then so bigger falls would be nice.

I got a Kayak for Xmas and went from the Anzac Ave Barron river bridge to the the back of my place, about 7kms. Had to get out and drag the Yak 5/6 times. Will be interesting to see the changes as we get more rain.

Haha RF, there are a few spots I would love to chuck a gauge out west. Plus that spot NE of Atherton that always seems to have a cell sitting on it.

So whats the rain prospect? Are we expected to get a bucketload or did that get revised down? And where is the MT?

Rough guess from my obs is the MT is running from bottom of gulf through to about Bowen DU, not exactly what I would call a vigorous flow so best we can hope for is something like yesterday but with a bit more eastward movement..

These showers have much more movement today, check out the ones that just exploded behind Oak Beach. Sprinkle here now.

The radar was cooking but didnt deliver for the most part ...... except if you were at the Pier at around 8:40 last night, the rain downpour was out of this world and it went at it for probably 20 mins - was like 3 freight trains overhead, very tiny cell but it bombed right inside the force field - was an awesome first night in the New Year!!

Was perfect boating this morning - very nice score there too

Yep few rumbles. Not much yet bit i guess this actually qualifies as a monsoonal storm. I can't recall one of them last year. At least. Not that i saw personally.

Two or three rumbles in the distance here. Sun was shining just before ... just as you think it couldn't get any more sticky!

At least we know there's a chance for some rain. One of those out of the blue sitters would be nice.

Back to work tomorrow, just as thngs are starting to get interesting weather wise.
