Lol cheers WR! smile

Dipped to 16.2C this morning out at Khancoban. Currently around 22C with partly cloudy, unstable skies over the Upper Murray. Still going for 32C here in Corryong with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, possibly with hail. smile

Edit: forgot to mention that the Yarrawonga radar is out of action. Bummer! frown mad

Overcast here, unlike the last couple of days at this time. We had some showers a little earlier, moderately heavy. OH picked up a quick 5 mm, nearly all between 8:00 and 9:00. The sun's now trying to come out.

Looks like a warm spell coming up, with four consecutive 33+ days in Sydney's West (36+ in Penrith, 30+ at OH) from the 8th. Might be worth its own thread.

Good to see that play as restarted. Over 20000 people have turned up and didn't see anything for 4 hours.

Looks like ASF may have scored a storm this afternoon. I look forward to his daily report from Corryong, north east Victoria. smile

I've had periods and drizzle and some light to moderate showers today. Normally with this type of weather the temps remain a bit cooler, so I've been surprised that the temp actually reached 24.6 - warmer than Richmond's high but short of Penrith's.
Actually, just looking at the AWS obs, much of Sydney has been cool. Must be the humidity making it feel warmer.

Anyone think that the line of storms through the Southern Tablelands might make it this far north and give us some rain later?
If anything, they are strengthening in intensity atm, and heading in the right direction. I don't expect storms, but some extra showers/rain band would be nice on such a crappy day weatherwise.

I don't think so Homer.
It's heading inland and it's probably why the BOM didn't forecast it to happen in the first place, you douchebag.

Those storms near Canberra are still going, but they've barely reached North of the ACT.

It was pretty overcast today but we'd finished with the rain by about 11:00AM. If the Cricket were on at Chatswood Oval not much play would have been lost today. On the other hand, most of yesterday's evening session would have been. It's the luck of the draw.

Wow we have two Homer's on the forum now!?! poke It doesn't surprise me that it won't make it to the coast, no shear again. Unfortunately I, near Bowral, didn't get any rain either.

I'm glad the cricket was rained out for a while lol. Yesterday it disrupted the Triple M rock music. I have been watching the big bash though, quite like that. Last night I gave it a try and actually watched it with my pop and really got into it as well.

Been a drizzly morning and then cloudy afternoon. Quite miserable and a bit on the cold side. Way out to the west it was clear skies and clear air too. I could see many many wind turbines to the west way off in the distance. I'm wondering what wind farm it could be?? Maybe the one near Crookwell but I also remember the Cullerin (near Gunning) wind farm being huge but surely I can't see that far from here.

Manly also got a tornado/waterspout the same day, possibly from the same storm system as Hornsby, only earlier in the day:

Had some incredibly heavy showers today. Torrential.
Way beyond the BOMS forecasts. Until they updated that is.

Clear sky here but fresh east wind. I hope it keeps the temperature down tomorrow.

This rain seems to have been quite localised to the Sydney area, specifically parts of the Eastern suburbs (including the SCG) and a belt of Western Sydney. For example, yesterday and today, Box Hill in Sydney's NW totalled 36mm. Randwick has had 30mm in the 48 hours to 9:00AM today and no doubt a decent total in the few hours after that - maybe 40MM or so all up.

Possible showers were forecast for each day this week for Sydney, but nothing like that, and it was actually right for much of the coast. I've had light showers overnight and early to mid morning for the last few days, with the rest of the day being fine and partly cloudy (or mostly cloudy yesterday).

It looks set to warm up. I'll start a heat thread tomorrow (unless someone else wants to).

Some good downpours overnight and into the mornings these past few days, afternoons have been relatively clear. Already recorded 48.9mm for the months so far, although this time last year I had recorded nearly 350mm.

Anyway the dewpoints and humidity have certainly been impressive these past few days.

Yesterday's forecast for today was chance of showers - mainly morning and early afternoon. They got that bit right.
The bit they didn't get right was the 0-4mm's bit.
I was watching because I was taking 5 kids to wet and Wild today. I still did.
But the forecast, even the updated forecast this morning couldn't have been more wrong, yet not much changed.
Extremely heavy showers persisted over the north west this morning. Very intense rainfall indeed, over many parts of the north west (Hills district) and west and south west suburbs. Falls of up to 30 mm's, with very localised heavy falls.

Yet the forecast was "chance of a shower".
Well done, computer model.

Still cloud on Mt Horrible, NE breeze. This easterly influence has been very persistent this summer, haven'thad the dry north-westers we usually get in summer. The bushfire season hasn't been too bad this summer. This has been perfect vineyard weather, dry, high 20s/low 30s, sunny. 2017 should be a good year in the CT, they are probably fairly pleased in the hunter as well. I haven't had to spray for mildew at all yet.

Usually in summer when we get a lot of easterlies we get lots of cloud and a strong katabatic wind but no rain. This year the easterlies haven't been as strong, it's been mainly sunny here with variable winds. yesterday evening the wind came up but then it dropped overnight, this morning it is back but not so strong.

I recieved a few decent showers at work yesterday, the cumulus formations from mid morning certainly suggested there was ample chance of a few mod/heavy falls, but i was still very surprised when i got home around 4pm and had 32mm in the gauge. YTD just brought up its half century, its been out of form the last 15 years though and is going to knuckle down to try to get to 4 figures

Right now 25.5C and surprisingly muggy.
Was at Tamworth during the week, low 30s all days, but slow to heat up and reach that maximum.
Now back home, looking like a good day, before the onset of heat again tomorrow for a whole week of it.

We all thought the heatwave would take him, but he passed away on a cold sad miserable day, rest in peace to my best friend in the whole world.

He is alive and well in this photo by the way.

My sympathy, it's sad to lose a companion, even a non-human one. But I'm sure you gave him a good life.
