This afternoon's forecast has a high chance of rain tomorrow.
Thank goodness.
90% chance of 10-15 mm's with gusty thunderstorms.
Sounds promising.

In the Gong for the next week and a half or so and it has been cool and cloudy all day here. Just 23C and after all the warmth we've been having, that feels cold. Last night was really chilly with strong southerly and drizzle coming down.

We unfortunately don't have "gusty tstorms" in our forecast. Instead we're limited to "chance of a storm". Still I'll have to see it to believe it.

Agreed. Although the Sat pics are looking pretty juicy and the BOM haven't been this gung ho for a while.

At least this change is giving this area a bit of relief from the 40+ heat, all we need now is some heavy rain and storms,I had a light shower here this morning measured 1mm.

Currently 40.2 degrees outside in the shade. There are patches of dark cumulus across the sky and looks like small isolated showers and storms could possibly develop if we're lucky. Hopefully most areas of the state get some rain tomorrow smile

The forecast for Bathurst is "possible heavy falls". Somehow that phrase always seems to be a jinx, I'm hoping for at least 10mm but fearing a complete fizzer.

Looks to be a nice storm day today. Weak Cap, Moderate convection and strong shear. BoM reckons that storms can be severe.

First bit of rain just whizzed through. More to come. smile

Like Sidney I'm very quietly confident that today will be pretty good for storm action.

Heavy stormy rain here at the moment - nothing measured at airport yet but it's a good'n. A few rumbles as well. Very dark and wonderful.

Temp was about 25 and rapidly dropping but airport has'nt caught up yet.

The rain has started here, fairly steady and I hope it keeps up for a while,a bit of thunder around.

There were a lot of birds around this morning, a bit like they were expecting the rain. I think it was all the grasshoppers around at the moment. There were Kingfishers, dollarbirds, friarbirds, woodswallows, willie wagtails and shrike thrushes, all getting their fill of grasshoppers. Also lots of parrots - gang gangs, cockatoos, galahs, rosellas, lorikeets. It was quite a noisy collection of birds

Solid rain here at the ag institute in Orange. Bucketed down for a couple of minutes earlier this morning just as I arrived. Radar and web cam looked good for Bathurst so hopefully we are getting some much needed rain at home.
