hi RS,
thanks for your report, the reason there is no alert for
LSE is the temperature/humidity index won't be high enough
for long enough for BOM to consider a notifiable threat for
the LSE. the USE is marginal but still falls within
notifiable limits. i don't know the exact paramaters but i
think it's roughly 3 or more days of tropical type weather.
you're looking at 1 or 2 at most.
of course that's according to forecast models and that as you
very well know can change so you may still get one yet.

well the rainband certainly thinned out, nothing more than
a dose of virga, i got 12.62 drops of rain on the concrete
so officially it did rain. BFD.

This forecast rain could push the summer total to close to highest on record . In the summer of 1924/1925 172.8mm was recorded, but most of that fell in a record breaking thunderstorm on Feb.7th 1925, a 141.5mm downpour !!!

Persistent on of showers since thismorning, on now, steady solid drizzle large drops, tropical, no wind 9mm so far, just about to drive to Adelaide, will see what's in the gauge when we get back home Tuesday evening?

it won't Eevo,
everything starting to ramp up now,
huge block of cloud in the bight and ep,
good development from and precip. coming across gulfs.
each load will wet the atmosphere and provide moisture
for the next.

PHWWWWOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!
she's on for tomorrow, gfs has come the pardy for storms.
nice line of storms "likley" from 1.30 on.
gunna be wet suckers, just have to see if any clear slots
eventuate.
soundings for ep are excellent with dryer mid levels and
bugger all low and mid level cloud forecst, surface trough,
good divergent mid and upper level winds and a nice gooey
atmosphere for them to snack on, this is shaping
up with the potential to be as crazy as the last lot.

yer only got 1.5mm here so far, no biggie, this is only a
primer, main event to start in the wee small hours of
tomorrow morning and ramp up from there.
from what i can tell radar is over tweaked to hyper
sensitive, that's why all the interference crap.

That's been my grizzle for awhile with the Buckland Park radar. Hopefully when it's updated it'll read more true.

Just 1 paltry millimetre here, though it was bucketing down at Porter Lagoon when I came through there around 4pm. smile

hi helen,
yer yours and everyone elses, damn thing.
unfortunately BOM don't have what it takes to dish up
a proper explanation as to why they had it tweaked it up
to so sensative. from what i've been able to gleen in info
it's only a senior technician or engineer gets to play with
these things when they come over for a service.
you can pretty much tweak these things up so they pick up
sparrow farts, with the BOM so cash strapped if it's
screwed up it stays screwed up until the next time they
come over to service. until i'm offered a more logical
and definitive explanation that's the best i've been
able to work out.

1.8mm for me, first wave is gone and this is pretty much
on par with what was predicted on average for today, if
we had got smashed by that system this morning i would
have been very happy but also very surprised.
you can see the second wave freight training over the
border now.
RS....rainguage at the ready, you might get a sprinkle
tonight.

yer pretty much rain band today as expected. Can't see too many storms about apart from the odd embedded rumble to two..

Should ease overnight then re-intensify tomorrow in a band north of a line about Cleve-Adelaide-Keith...

I personally see the rain has already shifted north and with that opens the door for storms this arvo if we can get some clear air, thoughts?

Actually, this pretty much explains what we will get today, as TH mentioned, a nice line of storms this eveing, but isolated stuff anytime from now I'd say...

FRONT NEAR Pt Neill/Mt Gambier AT 4:30pm, Cleve/Bordertown AT 6:30pm. SCATTERED OF RAIN AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT. THUNDERSTORMS CLEARING MORE THAN 60NM S OF FRONT. RAIN TENDING TO ISOLATED SHOWERS MORE THAN 120NM S OF FRONT.
