21mm, also thought there would be more. East of the highway between G'vale and Edmonton must be doing well.

2.4mm here and looks like the mm's might be harder to come by over the next few days.
Have had 11 consecutive days of rain though. No big falls but ticking along nicely with 60+mm over those days.
Also loving the cooler temps. This Feb has averaged nearly 3c cooler than last Feb.

Well 10 night straight back under the doona at night for me now.

Temps don't show it, but it feels so much colder since the rainy days started.

19.3c this morning. Lovely.
Access and CMC have that low edging closer and closer to us each run for the past couple of days. Might get some decent falls towards the end of the week. GFS and EC have had no interest in it at all.

Went through there yesterday. Amazingly only one shower all day. We spotted 1 male cassowary with 4 large chicks, and then two more males. They were everywhere lol.

Weipa's obs have disappeared for a while now, they have had some blobs of rain in that time too.

Looks like Friday may be a bit damp down there Slippery and Pogo.

Yep the forecast is for a wet end to the week Slippery and Ron..

Hows the building going Slippery..all the tradies having a good whinge about the weather..haha..

The cassowaries are pretty thick this season Ron...apparently one came up and harassed a new guy here this morning while he was getting a trailerload of mulch by the creek....he got scared and went and got into the ute but it came right up to the window for a few minutes...probably some of my greenie neighbors are feeding it and its starting to become very bold....

Yeah Scott the builder is running hard to get the walls and roof on while the weather has been reasonable. I told him I think it may change soon though. LOL.

I will be up there some time within the next fortnight to meet with the kitchen bloke and check out the progress.

It is funny to see that the area gets our yearly rainfall in a month. Culture shock coming. eek

The whole weather forecasting thing is screwed - at the long range end of it that is

Big cyclone season they said, quieter than last year even

El Nino they say, who knows if they have a clue. There would certainly be dry signals but ............

No more rain since the other day.
We got a 15 second sprinkle yesterday.
And a 30 second heavy sprinkle today, just enough to mark the dust.

The ants, however, started to build lots of mini volcanos around the entry/exits, but some are built like dams, as though they want the water to funnel in...? Who knows what the little engineers are doing under the soil.

They did this about 3 days before the New Year Deluge. Hope it's a sign of another deluge.

Forget to check the mock orange though.

So I guess it's goodbye to February, and hello March tomorrow, first day of southern autumn. Have already felt the change in weather the last 2 days.

Edit: Off-topic. The NBN is switching off the old ISS satelite just before midnight. I wonder if they've all moved over to SkyMuster yet.

Finished the month with 19 days of rain bringing 193.6mm. Takes me to 541.4mm YTD which is nearly 325mm more than this time last year and 50mm more than all of last year.

Average Max was 30.4c which is 2.5c lower than last Feb
Average Low was 21.6c which is 0.6c higher than last year.

All in all it was a much nicer Feb this year. Fingers crossed for a couple of rain bearing systems in March.
