Heavy rain yesterday between Nebo and Sarina, creeks almost over in some places.
Back to blue skies today, waiting for the humidity to climb again.

Things looking interesting for the east coast late February?
MeteoStar Forecast Weather Model Surface Winds and mslp Take a look at the last few frames (around 20th Feb). I know it's a long time out but it's something to keep an eye on I think.

Well, that was hectic.... house is still here at least! I can hear more rain on the roof and thunder in the west, so maybe some more on its way.

Drove home in it wow very wild in places!! The lightning was insane cutting through North Eaton to Marani. The lightning was close enough to here a hiss then the thunder one right beside the car (jocks managed to survive unscathed). Lots of wind. Between Garget and Marini there were some trees on the road lots of big branches. 51mm at home.

I live at Eimeo, nthn beaches of Mackay. we got about 100mm out of the storm, havnt experienced that amount of lightning and thunder intensity since feb 2008, the week before the major flood.

I will upload a video from last nights storm.

Saw it building up on the sat pic and radar, it seemed to get worse as it got closer to us, it hung around for about 1.5 hrs.

Nice!

That is the largest area of vorticity we've seen in the Coral Sea this season. It should be in the Coral Sea Tropical Cyclones thread.

Looks like more rain is forecast for the coming week, we really cannot complain, we have had nearly 800mm YTD her in the northern beaches, which is about 130mm above the ave, no cyclones/lows, but atleast its been raining.
