The monsoon trough lies over the Top End and is gradually strengthening. It will continue to drift southwards to be located near the base of the Top End by Monday morning, with increasing rain and squally monsoon conditions over the Top End.
HEAVY RAIN which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely in the Daly District.
Locations which may be affected include Darwin, Palmerston, Wadeye, Nauiyu, Batchelor and Adelaide River.
In the last 24 hours to 9am CST Sunday, the highest rainfall amounts observed include:
290 mm at Shoal Bay
284.8 mm at Geriatric Park
254.4 mm at Leanyer
221.8 mm at Howard Springs
221.2 mm at Marrara
There have also been many falls of 100-200 mm observed in the Darwin and rural areas.
