Extremely overcast today with lots of thunder around today but as yet not too much rain in Broome Town.

Yesterday was a warm day which was nice to dry things out a bit.

Any thoughts on this looming monsoon? I heard that it's RAIN ON for the next few days, I look outside and the stars are shining bright.

It's MONSOON TIME 😁😎😁!!! Should be wet wet wet from now through all next week in the Darwin region. I nearly have 100ml at my house from midnight til now today. I set my weather station up in a more suitable location just in the nick of time too (last night). Look at my weather at https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IDARWIN7
I had a little hiccup today and lost data, which is why it's only currently showing 28mm for the day on the website.

You're certainly doing a lot better than we are. Got 32.6mm to 9AM today. Since then 17.4mm up to a short time ago. My place was below average for both December and January but February is looking like it might make up for it. Although early days, so shouldn't jinx ourselves.

I must be on the wetside of Palmerston. Checking on the WU website, there seems to be a clean split through the centre of Palmy, s/w side 100+mm and n/e side 50ish mm.
Maybe us on the s/w side were just lucky to get an extra storm last night then the n/e Side?
I'm up to 108.7mm so far today.

Cool video mate, what drone are you using? It seems very stable!

I have an old DJI Phantom 1 with a gimbell and go pro but thinking of upgrading to a newer platform soon.

Here's a little video I made out at Dundee with it about a month ago.

Nice vid Damon.

Yeah that stuff of mine is shot with the Phantom 4. Still trying to get a handle on the best way to utilise the camera at the moment so just trying a few different things with frame rates etc. and various colour profiles but slowly working it out.

Here is a bit I shot at a slower frame rate (24fps) I find it's a nice look with the motion blur on the faster passes. Using ND filter.

We saw some nice rain up in Arnhemland, but nowhere near the totals that you guys in and around Darwin have recorded for the same timeframe. I also managed to get out last week and get some aerial footage, so figured I'd share it here too. This edit was from a section on the eastern side of the Blythe River.

Nice video Anthony.

February total for Darwin AP 606.6mm making it the sixth consecutive above-average rainfall month for the official site since the first rains of the build-up back in September. Rolling total for the build-up/wet season is currently up to 1873.2mm.

Some fairly decent thunderstorms getting around the joint of late too which is nice to see after prolonged periods of monsoon flow killed off the SE steered storms there for a while.

Here's a pic of a nice punchy little Cb out near Middle Point the other day...

Hey thanks mate! Was quite a nice little storm that one, slung out some spectacular clear-air bolts for a period there too.

Here's another one from the same afternoon, a weakening storm tracking in over Elizabeth River close to sunset. 7 image stitch pano.

Apparently yesterday Darwin passed the 2000 mm total for this wet season. And yesterday my total for this wet season so far passed my average for a wet season (1647.1 mm). Obviously not all wet seasons are equal in all areas. But still, a couple of months to go yet.
