I think Townsville Is qldrs version of the village of the damned. They just can't win weather wise. I feel for them.

I would be proper PO'd with the lack of heat, constant cold fronts and seabreezes while seeing everyone else get heat. I would be livid.

I've been lurking and reading these forums for years and it makes me sick how people that love heat and summer are guilted with hyperbole about things like bushfires, "lives at stake" which are thrown in your face. This is why I cannot stomach the VIC forums, you dare like heat and you are basically lynched. You try and put up a valid argument and you are ganged up on and your words twisted to fit their collective agenda. They treat any form of warmth as if its plutonium, even though they live in the coolest, cloudiest place on the mainland with the shortest, most cold front and seabreeze-infested summers. Nah, 7 months of cold overcast and drizzle is not enough. Lets plague the short summers aswell.

I know you secretly love us Victorians Galaxyman grin

Haha yep you got that right Weather_Viewer! grin

But all jokes aside, yes Gary and Galaxyman are entitled to their opinions. But if Galaxyman has a problem with most of us Victorians hating scorching summer heat (and the associated bushfire risk) then that shouldn't be our problem! I have every right to hate anything above 35C unless it's humid with storms and heavy rain. mad mad frown

Since mod November We in Townsville have had most days in the mid to high 30's and 60% or more humidity and no relief from groundhog day until end of March. Our hottest day was last Tuesday with a temp at 1.45pm of 41.1C. We generally have 1 or 2 of these a year that high.

But then in winter of it gets to single digits people up here start losing their minds over how cold it is. The heat is a bugger but is bearable with aircon for sleeping so what the hell this is north Qld I live her because I like the heat and cyclones, pity we haven't had 1 in 6 years. So what am I saying? Each climate suits different people. Me I hate the cold with a passion. As far as I'm concerned snow should be on beer bottles in your fridge not on the ground.

Gary would be very happy to have, at last, had some replies to his annual post going off crook about something weather related grin

Unfortunately he hasn't logged on again since the start date of this thread, 14/2, and may not read it until his next annual post.....lol

Generated some discussion though about the weather we prefer.

Lets hear it for WINTER..........COOLING SOUTHERLIES.........SNOW..... grin

You do, but don't go guilt tripping about bushfires and all that when someone expresses joy at heatwaves, like how you went into the SA thread to lecture me about your bushfire risk when I was creaming over last week's heatwave. I don't care for that and it's not my problem. You chose to live in an alleged bushfire risk area so you have to accept the risks, otherwise move somewhere else. I just want to enjoy the heatwave.
