Overnight low of 12.4°C, reached a top of only 22.4°C here in Belgrave today. Virtually no rain here sadly.
Thankfully, plenty of weather action awaited me further south! I was out with my family on a day trip to Gippsland's Bass Coast southeast of Melbourne, leaving home at around 11am and returning by about 7pm.
Apart from a brief light shower as we drove through Harkaway to Berwick, it stayed mostly dry until we headed southeast on the South Gippsland Highway beyond Tooradin and Koo Wee Rup around midday.
Up until about 3pm (while visiting Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Cape Paterson, and Kilcunda), we had a mix of sun and rain. A number of showers swept in from the west, with the last shower we encountered (while at Cape Paterson at 3pm) being quite heavy; no thunderstorms sadly! Fortunately the showers were brief, lasting only 5-10 minutes max.
Temperatures were generally only around 15-16°C (full stats from the BOM to come tomorrow hopefully), but winds were generally very light, except in exposed coastal spots around Cape Paterson and Kilcunda; whenever it did blow strong and gusty it felt quite raw and cold! Conversely, at other times when the sun was out (especially just after a shower had gone through), it felt quite kinda intense, so I'd have to remove my windcheater!
The weather finally improved after 3pm as we made our way home, with plenty of sunshine and generally light winds (particularly at Grantville and Jam Jerrup, on the eastern shore of Western Port). It got a little cloudy once again in Tooradin after 5pm, but the sun came back out soon afterwards.
Currently around 13°C.
