13 degrees in Melbourne at the moment. It's Feb. Why do people live here?

I am in Sydney. Those storms out west were awesome. Constant lighting CG and sound of thunder in Penrith as I watched the storms pass. Seriously I have come to realise that Cairns climate is not as enticing as I once thought.

30.7 degrees and 60% humidity
Feels nice and damp after yesterday's 27mm.
Fair bit of black cloud around us, but radar shows the rain is slipping to either side of us again. grin

Cairns and Townsville both suck weatherwise compared to most other cities in Australia.

Its so easy for Brisbane, Sydney, Mackay, friggen Mount Isa even to get a storm. Sooo easy.

Hoping that blob has enough juice in it to make it tonight. Looks better than last night but I am waiting for it to dissipate as it hits Mareeba.

Looking good on radar in Chillagoe C@28. Look v heavy. Not holding my breath for it to make it this way. Western areas need it more than us anyway.

Just starting here now, got a quick 7mm earlier today but this one looks to be the makings of a nice rainy night.

That certainly was a lovely bit of rain. A few hours of it, and it eased off about 10.45pm. No idea how much, not up to trudging thru wet paspalum in the dark to check.

It's a very fresh 22.8°C at the moment, with 74% humidity.

Yep you were spot on Brett..!

At least some of the westerners got a bit..

My boys poor young dog got chased by a cassowary this morning..the bloody thing was tucking into some bananas I cut down and the dog was just trotting past when the bloody bird took off after her for no reason at all...might be an early thankgiving celebration soon if the bird doesn't have an attitude adjustment..!

That cell passing over Port Douglas is pretty intense with rain. A nice red blob right over them.
